Early Look: OC Portrait ๐Ÿ–โœจ + Tutorial Poll Results! ๐ŸŒ™โ˜€๏ธ

Happy Monday everyone!! I hope you all had a great weekend :) ๐Ÿค

Today I finished painting and coloring this portrait of my OC! ๐ŸŽ€ It was an interesting process because I decided to try rendering most of the drawing with the default flat brush in Procreate, which created some interesting edges and paint strokes in the drawing! Other than the flat brush, I used my custom Smooth Render brush for more soft rendering and the Marker Multiply brush from Max Ulichneyโ€™s comic brush set for some thinner line details :)

Yesterday I posted a brand new draw with me video for you guys as well and you can watch it here! Itโ€™s a cozy video showing how I sketched this OC drawing โญ๏ธโœจ

In other news, on Friday our second tutorial video poll closed!! I asked you guys whether we should study day lighting or night lighting ๐ŸŒ™โ˜€๏ธ

And the option that won the vote was night lighting! ๐Ÿฅณ So this coming week Iโ€™ll be working on planning, drawing, and filming for the video :) Itโ€™s going to be sooo much fun to draw some dark nighttime lighting and I canโ€™t wait to get started! ๐Ÿ˜ Iโ€™ll keep you guys updated on progress :)

Alright everyone I hope you have a splendid week โ˜บ๏ธ stay safe & cozy ๐Ÿงก

Love,

Lydia ๐Ÿ’Œ

Iโ€™m so happy youโ€™ve been enjoying the content and learning!! ๐Ÿ˜ I havenโ€™t made any differences to the pressure curve or adjusted any of the presets, but I think a lot of it has to do with several factors like brush size, the opacity, and the speed of the brush stroke as you draw the lines if that makes sense. With Marker Multiply for example, it can create really sharp and dark lines if you use max opacity and a small size, but if you raise the size and lower the opacity, it will become really chalky, textured, and light! So there are lots of variations for brushstrokes which might be why it looks a little different! A fun exercise I like to do is use just one brush (either for a sketch or for coloring something) which can help familiarize yourself with how the brush works and how to create a lot of variation too :) I hope that makes sense!!

Yesss!! Canโ€™t wait to share it with you guys! ๐Ÿฅณ

I started learning how to draw from you about a month ago and I think progress is great!!! Thereโ€™s one thing tho, even with the same brush our strokes still look completely different. Do you have a specific pressure curve preset or something of such??

looking forward to the new tutorial โ˜บ๏ธ
