I'm not sure if you want ideas or not (I'm just volunteering my opinion here, it may not be feasible) but for stardust, I'm not sure if you can add a brief animation level to panels, but that could be one way to make the stardust really dance a little? Or possibly do some kind of light refraction (possibly rainbow) effect with a glow (aka use of blend layer on lowered opacity)?
