Years ago, I couldn't get hired after college despite graduating with honors, years of work experience, and hundreds of volunteer hours. I went out on a limb and decided to pursue work as a creative after having no time for it while studying. I moved to Seattle and was sort of forced into being a starving artist when I began editing and modeling. I had vision and could see myself making it if I persevered through that challenging time.
A few weeks ago I was I was flown out to Seattle by a boudoir photograph company I work for and they had me staying in the exact room I had my first boudoir modeling shoot in when I was just starting out. It was a very trippy full circle moment. I'm so glad my client schedule and energy levels allowed for some time tov get some self-portraits in to document what feels like a nod to the long and hard road I've walked to become a full-time (and well fed) creative.
Self-shot on my trusty fuji x100f!
