What I have learned from this contest
Added 2025-03-10 14:13:14 +0000 UTCSo our first life size contest just wrapped up and some aspects did not go down the way I was hoping that they would. So in this post I will be breaking down some things I have learned that will hopefully make the next contest better
1. Do the voting on Google Forms
2. Do the contest in warmer months
3. Extend the contest to 2.5 months instead of 2
Maybe: Reduce the amount of entries per person from 2 to 1
So lets break these down now.
1. Do the voting on Google Forms
So the biggest issue with this contest was the fact that I held it on FB and it became a populatiy contest. That was not my goal or my intention when I posted in on there. At that time I thought it was the best way to proceed with the vote due to patreon being stupid with limiting how many items can be in one poll and potential website issue.
But thanks to you guys feedback, I learned about Google Forms and how voting can take place there and I can check everyone's emails at the same time. So we will be doing that next time and for our Mini contest later this month
2. Do the contest in warmer months
I think this one makes sense so I not going to go into detail.
3. Extend the contest to 2.5 months instead of 2
So this is only talking about life size contests due to the size of these statues. I think extending how much time you guys have will make entering this contest easier.
Maybe: Reduce the amount of entries per person from 2 to 1
So we had a lot of entries and a lot of them were doubles. That said It might be easier for all of us to reduce the entries.
But thats just what I think, let me all know what you all think too!
