Better Abs - v1a - Early Access

This is NOT a CAS Slider! It will automatically appear in Live Mode gameplay unless you disable it.

If you’ve ever played with muscular sims in The Sims 4, you’ll know that the muscle texture for sims has no normal maps (aka fake details and depth). They’re not very high-poly either, so you get something that looks painted on the sim’s skin.

Better Abs aims to fix that! The mod currently works on only male sims Teen and older. Female sims may be added later if there is enough interest, as a lot more meshes need to be converted.


The mod replaces the default male shirtless mesh with a higher-poly base. Better Abs improves on other shirtless top replacements by having one mesh for all male sims, so no more having to pick specific versions to match your sim’s physique.

How do I use this mod?

The mod has two modes. The default is the automatic mode, which adjusts to your sim’s fitness and weight sliders, and an optional manual mode which is enabled by setting it to a value between 0 and 100% percent. These values can be found under the Abs Settings, which is a sub pie menu located in the Actions pie menu.

Automatic mode looks super cool! I suggest leaving the mod to automatic mode unless it looks really off.

A side note: The abs will be automatically hidden upon switching to any other clothes besides the shirtless top. 

How do I install?

Unzip the .zip then drag the package and .ts4script directly to your mods folder or into a sub-folder, do not put the files any deeper. Make sure custom content and scripts are enabled in your settings. Requires Lot51’s Core Library.

How do I uninstall? Will it cause any issues?

No issues, you can safely delete both files from your folder.
