2025-04-06 17:55:28 +0000 UTCThis episode was notable to me because it’s the first time we really see any kind of real emotion from Rei, she smiled at Gendo before and has shown some anger but even the first time I watched it I noticed how she actually emphatically delivered the line when telling Asuka to expand her AT field Edit to add: it’s a little more noticeable in the original English dub, the English actress used a very soft and almost empty voice for Rei but was borderline shouting at that part in the English dub (and the Netflix version uses a new dub for English, it’s not the one that was originally released in the 90s)
