Although I love stick figures, I like to practice human figures once in a while. I feel like it's something that every well-rounded artist ought to do, even if they have a specialization. It's definitely something I want to get better at, since animators tell incredibly mature and touching stories with non-cartoony characters.
Notes
I could improve my fore-shortening, and anatomy, especially around the torso, arms and legs. Maybe I should rely less on rendering shadows and big poses, and try to capture more subtle gestures. And Rebekah says that I have a particular way with drawing faces, and I agree - they look a little weird. Animating some figure drawing with multiple keyframes might be a method for getting good fast.
