Nov 2018 Poster + Update (Farewell to Monthly Posters)
Added 2018-11-05 05:38:45 +0000 UTCThis is the first vertical patreon poster I've ever done. It doesn't depict a scene but rather acts as a sort of "key visual" for the Gildedguy stories. I hope to feature all the characters in their own animations in the future.
As we approach the 2 year mark since the start of these posters, and as the year of 2018 closes out, I thought this would be a good time to step back from monthly posters and focus on animation.
So this poster, and December's poster, will be the final monthly posters. In their stead, I'll be doing more animation content.
Producing the posters and editing all the recorded footage for the speedpaints took roughly 3-5 days out of each month (almost a work week!), and . I'd like to commit that time toward the main project OR making fun little shorts (like this one).
They were a great way for me to flex my storytelling skills via illustration, and after 25 consecutive months, I've thoroughly explored the medium, and squeezed all I could out of it.
Although the posters told some nice little stories, I feel like I can squeeze more entertainment value out of mini-mations, over singularly detailed posters (with no text).
They won't go away completely though! I bet there will be more detailed posters for special occasions (project releases and events).
Thank you guys again for funding all these posters and speedpaints. Being able to regularly exercise my digi-painting skills definitely leveled me up as an artist. And the speedpaints gave the general audiences something to enjoy while waiting for the big anims to come out.
