Soooo here's something a smidgen different, but also well within my wheelhouse - so both a comfort zone thing and a little bit of an experiment at the same time.
Basically, I'm a huge fan of the artist Lois Van Baarle (or Loish as you may know her) and I've tried desperately to bring elements of her style into my own for years. I love the flow of her artwork, the shapes she uses, the lighting, all sorts. I'm a bit of a Loish simp tbh. Alas all of that desperation has never amounted to much, it's always come off a bit weird and never really sat right in my eyes. But then...
Mercedes posted something on her page last year some time and I did a little study of it (the rough in the attachments is basically that study) and immediately I thought of working it up as a Loish inspired piece, big leafy plants, beams of light, pretty girl etc etc but life happened and I never did it.
Until that was, I found myself with a little spare time and an occasion to mark. This is something of a gift for Mercedes, but I thought I'd share it with you guys too.
Looking at it now, it's almost a companion piece to the Ritual of the River Goddess painting from a couple of years ago.

I hope you like it.
