Honestly, at that age for me of 10-13 years old reading all of the comics didn't make a lot of sense to me. I had terrible problems with reading comprehension in school and I was the same for comics. I followed the stories visually through the art. And of course I was redrawing all of the best panels. Still to this day, I don't care so much for the story as long as it looks good and I can tell what's going on visually. Frankly, sometimes going back and reading those comics I always had, but didn't read kind of ruins them for me. I like the story that was in my head better.

I thought the Jim lee costume's design was okay, I neither loved it nor hated the design itself, but I always felt that the orange color had no business being on there, even though the blue part was fine. I would have preferred gold, red, or even green instead of that weird "faded orange" color. And, yeah, the Dark Phoenix story made little sense to me as a kid, even though I read it multiple times at that time. Turning evil for no reason, then deciding to kill herself after the whole team fought to keep her alive; I couldn't figure out why her character changed so often. It wasn't until many years later that I figured out her head was bring messed with by both Mastermind and the Phoenix Force, and that's why she behaved so wonky.

Thanks! Her X-factor costumes, both green w/full head mask with pony takl and mask with full hair out. Also the red and yellow that came later is not second favorite. Her original costume with the dress and half-mast was ok. Nothing wrong with young as long as she's 18. My preferred age for females is 18-24. I'm not a big fan of the whole dark Phoenix character ark in general. I know, sacrelig, right? When I started reading the x-men wrong issue #189, she wasn't in the book. I got to know her in x-factor #1 in 1986. As far as the jim lee costume in the 90s I'm also not a big fan.

Man, Jean has always looked so good! And I really like that you used her X-Factor outfit; I've always thought that costume/uniform was the perfect transition from her green-and-gold, dress-like "graduation outfit" which was nice, but made her look more like a young girl than a superhero, to her more modern costumes, incorporating the color schemes of the Dark Phoenix look with the more "team uniform" look of the original X-Men and original X-Factor costumes, but with a more personalized touch, symbolized by each member getting their own suit colors.
