New features(please read)

Hello everyone!

I gonna present some ideas I want to insert in the game. They are pretty interesting and it will require some changes in the design, adding more graphics, events and development time. I would like to hear your thoughts.


1- Customize your Shepherd

A lot of you requested Female Shepherd. I studied a bit the code, made some counts, its completely doable. And more, I can give a option to choose skin, eyes and hair colors. I could put some hairstyles for you to choose but I don't know if it would worth the trouble since Shep doesn't show that much. But of course, I can make him/her to show more.


2-Waifu(romance) system

The original game is well know because of the romance system. In this game, being in romance with only one girl is not possible. Yet. With this system we would have a new gauge, each girl would have a Love gauge. To fill them you must select certain dialog options. Now, these "right choices" would be tricky to find, after all the minds of women are pretty difficult to read, they doesn't follow any logic.

The rewards for filling a love gauge would be the girl going to her muscle burst sequence, which means you could only see one for each gameplay. And this means you would have to play the game 6 times at least. I would have to change the events structure a bit. And it would affect the endings too.


3-Adventuring and item inventory

This one is tricky and made of nightmares. But it will add a lot of gameplay. For example, when you meet Bali and she damages her suit, you could help her looking for materials to fix her suit. Other example, you can use the research documents you found on Lima's room to confront Minerva. If you don't have them, she will continue to deny everything. Cool, right?


First we would to have a map navigation system, which it would be simple. The starship Nomanland is pretty big and have several places to explore. Second, item inventory, not too hard either. I can make the items to appear on the top of the screen after you click a "show inventory" button.


The bad part? Change in the design of the game, events and addition of more screens and code. More time for development.



That's it. Some of these new features were in the original design of the game, which I did cut to reduce the work. But now, with all this support and feedback, I feel I should deliver the game in the best and most complete shape possible. I would like to hear from you guys about these points I presented. Meanwhile I am building the graphics for the second act as before. Any critic and sugestion is welcome.

Muscle Carnival/Bikini Party would be epic! I take it that would be a similar sort of thing to the Flexing Festival idea from a while back? Or a combination of that and the bikini showdown? Either way, I'm all about any combination of those ideas and words! :)

Sorry it took so long to respond, I've been busier than expected this week, and then Patreon went down when I was responding to your other posts recently. Anyway! Those all sound like good ideas. A separate muscular femshep mode sounds good, and people seem to like the idea of that. Plus it would allow you to only have to worry about making that part when you were ready, rather than trying to incorporate it into the main mode and add extra time and work to the development. And of course that all sounds good about the romance and exploration stuff too. It sounds like you've thought a lot about these extra parts, and they could certainly be very cool additions. As always, I look forward to seeing how this develops!

I have plans to work in this mode after completing the main game. The story will be the same but I will modify the graphics and some parts of the dialogue.

How about a futa mode?

Well, take as much time as you need, maybe even do like a kick-started campaign to raise funds if you need more resources, or maybe like, take comissions as alt charachters. Whatever you need, man. But yeah, the problem with a 'love' gauge, is that it's too generic, it doesn't really work for passive-agressive girls like Jack, but that's just my opinion. Think about replay value though! If you add extra stuff upon completing 'objectives' or w/e, and do another playthrought with the same gal, to unlock all the content, that means people would spend more time and more doe on your game! So think about putting as many hidden shit as you can!

I gave a thought on that in the very beginning. Depending the role you chose the girls would have different behaviors on the second act. This means each girl would have three different version, which is a lot! Then I discarded the idea because of the amount of work necessary to develop this. But i agree with you, we need choices and variations. So i came with a better idea, inside of the events we would have pieces of dialogues exclusive for each role. But I like the idea of dominance and submissiveness. Right now I am designing the love gauge system, which gives us two options, full love or not enough love. Your idea is interesting, but it opens a new branch for behaviors. I need to think about it. About your idea for different clothes, it sounds good! Making completely different outfits is a lot of work, maybe doing some small changes like with or without gloves, with or without shoulder pads.

Hey, how about implementing a system which determines Dominance/Submissiveness of each gal? Mostly choosing which things to say, which might in turn affect the way they adress and talk to you, for example encouraging Bali to be less of a wimp would make her call you a 'Bitch' or something, which also could unlock like, alternative BDSM outfits. Also, just a thought, what about having like a 'New Game Plus" mode, where all the gals start off with your preferred attitude, which mostly results in just some additional dialogue stuff, or something. I think having the most amount of dialogue stuff is very important in Mass Effect...ed porn. Yeah, i'm just throwing out ideas, and like, take as much time as you need to do this, we understand, it's all for the GREATER GOOD!

I thought about gifts to improve the romance chances, i think it would work, not that hard to implement. I created a extra section on the start screen. In there you can find a gallery, diaries entries, character models and event viewer. This way you can keep track of what is missing to do.

Nice points. I will post some layouts and samples before modifying the game. The adventure/inventory development is a lot of work and you are right, it's not that essential.

For a female Shepherd story, I think she should get big muscles to face the others girls. And they could duel in a flex contest. And then some kissing after the duel. But again, this would better as a completely new mode just for fem Shep.

I don't think any romance between characters would be satisfying, but a female Shepherd sounds like fun. You might even find a reason to give her big muscles, perhaps just so she could defend herself.

To me, the most important thing is having the possibility to play as femshep. I'd like to have her customizable but it's not a deal breaker. Perhaps you could just create a few defined choices without giving the player the possibility to set each feature individually (eg. hair, eyes, etc). I like the monogamous romance and the need to play the game six times to try out each love story. But I'm not very keen on the adventure/inventory development, I think it would take too much time to develop and it doesn't seem essential in such a game.

@ReddyHeart I think the "extra mode" where you play as a Fem Shep that can get get bigger and muscular is the most requested feature of your game. But it would need, I think, some major overhaul to be implemented (all the diaologue will need to be rewritten, as it always implies you're a man, and weaker than the girls, gameplay will be different, as you will need to manage some sort of growth/workout meter if you want it to be interesting, customization will be a much more important feature than it could ever be if you played as regular Shep, and so on). Due to the massive amount of work it would entail, and seeing as the game already needs some delay, I would suggest to release the full game with the Visual Novel/P&Click Adventure part done (which is the core game), with all the features planned up until now, and then work an extra mode where you play as a muscular FemShep as an expansion (you know, those things that greatly enhanced a game post-release and that nearly every major publisher forgot it existed when they found out they could just sell tiny bits of extra game for ten times the money?). You would then have a fully-fledged game released, making a solid basis upon which you can start working, instead of a project forever in development because you keep adding new features (a trap that, for example, most indie projects that get funded to all heavens on Kickstarter tend to fall in). It is an extremely cool idea in itself, and one I'm 100% in for, but you've already added so much to the list of upcoming stuff, that I feel it would be detrimental if you tried to add it all at once. P.S : On the subject of meeting a muscular FemShep, I'm not too hot about this one : just doing that without making her playable would be very underwhelming, and if you planned to make her playable it would just spoil the fun.^^

Of course! That is the idea of the secret ending, or the best ending if you prefer. But before that you will have to win their hearts one by one.

1-Agree. 2-Agree 2. 3-I am planning a secret true ending event which will be necessary some collecting and exploration. But it will be easy to navigate the map. I will post a layout of the map soon.

Those are great ideas! I am between two options: 1- Make an extra mode which you can play as female Shep. She can grow like the others girls. 2 - You can meet your female version in the game, she could be a clone.

Thank you for the response! 1- I found that too after thinking a bit. The girls are the stars of the game. About the female Shepherd, I think, maybe, it would be something for a new game mode. I think people would like to play as a muscle girl. What do you think? 2-They will be the same sequences. After the girls rip their clothes, they will still talk a bit more. Now, I was thinking about sex scenes, after all she will be naked and in good mood so... hmmm... see? More on thing to add. 3-I would limit the exploration to no create something too complicated. I would give three choices of exploration on most of the places. For example, if you go on Minerva's office when she isn't there, you will have three options: Check her computer, open a safe behind of a mirror and look for used underwear. Everything place will have a thing to find. The exploration will be rewarding, not just something to extend the game. Well, i hope. These things are easy to implement, but its a lot of work. But it will add a lot.

Suggest: -itmes used as gifts to improve romance chances, bonus items include (pictures of characters, videos-bonus), clothes,items characters love or like -customize shepard to have muscles, boob size, be an alien (choice of species-bonus find) -bonus menue to see all the bonus items you collected from the game, to look at whenever you want, to use as an extra hidden ability

Thanks! I am thinking in making a unlockable list in the extra section, this way you can see what is missing to find. And of course, we can make a walkthrough with the secrets.

i am a bit dissapointed by the romance, in that you could only have romance with one character each game play, like in the original. is there any way (as a bonus) to make it so shepard can convince all the female characters to love him all together? they are all on one ship after all

Thank you for the patience! I agree some lines needs more work and the events needs more choices for the dialogues. About the romance system, i didn't design the chance of failure, you always finishs the game with the girls you chose. Now with that new system, you can fail on the dates and it will be game over if you end the game without romancing with any girl. About the exploring, there will be nice things to find, nude pictures to view on the gallery and pieces of diaries from the girls.

1.) I think picking between a male and female Shepard is a good idea, but I think it should mostly affect dialogue. I don't think custom hair and eyes and outfits are necessary, just have a male and female graphic. Our main focus should be the crew members and their changes. 2.) I think a romance system would be awesome and a lovely addition, especially with being able to see a muscle burst sequence. 3.) Having a basic ship map/layout would be nice, but maybe not totally necessary, but an item inventory for some special extra hidden interactions would be lovely to expand on possible dialogue and outcomes. Perhaps a secret hidden item that allows you to pick a girl to get another extra even larger stage of growth, for better or worse. ^__~

Of the 3 ideas I think the romance system is definitely needed, I like the way the game is going so far but adding the romance would make for high replay value :). Whatever you decide bro, this game is going to be glorious regardless! And no rush as always.

If we get to play as femshep does that mean she gets to grow some muscles? Not like any of the characters but from a skinny femshep to a slightly muscular femshep? Hey, a guy can dream right?

Some really great ideas there! My thoughts on each: 1) Customising Shepherd is something I probably wouldn't bother with myself. I couldn't get anything I liked the look of when I played the games, so I just went with the default character model, and I'd be fine with doing the same thing again here. :p So it might be cool, but it's not something I'd personally be disappointed with if it wasn't in the game. 2) Of the three ideas here, I like the sound of this one the most. Would the muscle burst sequence you mention be a different one to the ones already in the game, or do you mean it would act like a shortcut and get you to one of the girl's existing sequences quicker? Either way I like the idea, and it would certainly add a lot of replay value if you had to play through multiple times to see a new sequence each time (even though I doubt most people are going to need much extra incentive to play through multiple times anyway :P ). 3) This also sounds like a cool idea, though possibly also the one that would take the most extra work. It'd certainly add a nice 'adventure game/point and click'-type vibe to everything, and it'd be something I wouldn't mind seeing, though equally would totally understand if it was just too much work to implement. Plus I guess it might also depend on how relevant it was going to be to the proceedings and how much it changed things to be able to say whether or not it might be worth all the extra effort you'd have to put in to get it done. But I could certainly see how it could fit. Like you say, finding the materials for Bali's suit might gain you some extra points with her if you also went with your second idea, or perhaps giving Mack a new wrench as a peace offering to replace the one she broke in the first act. :p But yeah, while cool, I'd understand if you decided against it due to how much time it would/might take to get done on top of everything else. Either way, I'm down with whatever you decide!

Dig the FemShep option, love option would balance out the pimp and wimp paths, and sure having items would also for easter eggs and different scenes. Besides, a longer development time allows for more artwork and features so I say go for it.

I'm for all three of these, and development time be damned. We wait 1-2 years at minimum for games like Halo and Uncharted anyway. Yes, please give us a FemShep and at least try to make her (and him in BroShep's case) seem like more than just a blunt instrument. My Shepards were never so stupid and uncouth as what you have depicted thus far. Wait, you're making a Mass Effect parody game, and you WEREN'T going to include a Romance system? I'd have been severely upset if you hadn't. This will also add much replayability to it. And yes, please let us do some exploring. Watching Liara or Tali bust their clothes is enjoyable, but it'd be even more so if we didn't get it all in a couple of hours' worth of playing.
