Beta 5.1 and plans for the 6th Beta

Hello!

Thanks to Alternate202 and his hawk 's eyes I fixed a lot of bugs, freezes and etc.

This is the first correction for the 5th Beta.

And now, this is what I am working to implement in the 6th Beta:


-Finish Lima Act 2 Event (coding)

-Finish Mack Act 2 Event (coding)


-Finish Bali Act 2 Event (coding)


-Start Masara Act 2 event (coding)


-Start Minerva Act 2 event (coding)


-Start Penny Act 2 event (coding)


-Insert main graphics of Masara  for Act 2


-Insert main graphics of Minerva  for Act 2


-Insert main graphics of Penny for Act 2


-Animate all the missing basic graphics on Act 2


-Include Lima's first muscle level on the Bio File section


-Include Mack's normal and first muscle level on the Bio File section


-Complete event viewer section


-Insert the first FMG report of Lima



That's it so far. It will have a lot of things beyond that, I work on them as they pop up. Until the next beta I will post samples of the graphics and features. And I want to complete a muscle burst sequence badly. I will try my best to insert Lima's MBS on that beta.

Thanks again! These bugs aren't really "bugs", it's mistakes, typos and lack of attention. But they are pretty easy to be sorted out. But I'm improving the process. Thank you again for the heads up!

Sure thing! I want to see! I will distribute the original code for the people spellcheck it. It will be more easier and practical than transcipt every single line.

Indeed. Definitely the best approach. Much better to get as many bugs as possible sorted out early on/avoided altogether rather than have to chase them down later. And thanks for the compliments guys. :) All I really did was keep an eye out. That's a drop in the ocean compared to everything you're doing Reddy, and you certainly made catching and reporting this stuff easy, with all the event and part listings and the auto-skip feature and whatnot. I'm just happy to lend a hand. :) Oh, I also found a couple more dialogue-related things while going through some parts earlier (though like the Mack one I mentioned above you might have already fixed them): When Bali steps into the door for her act one muscle growth scene, if you choose the top dialogue option , the name during the dialogue being spoken is "undefined" where it most likely should say "Chakalaka" ("Sure, go ahead! By the way, Dr. undefined knows how to treat your kind, right? I can't ask her, just to be safe."). Also, at the end of Bali's act 1 scene, after you return and give her the materials for her suit, there's a line of dialogue that looks like it should be spoken by Shepherd, but Bali is credited as the speaker ("Ok, try to cooldown now."). I'll continue to keep my eyes peeled for anything else that might crop up, but I get the feeling you've probably squashed just about every bug there is to squash in this beta by this point. ;p

No problem, keep us posted, when you need the support just ask. I did create a little transcript of the prologue a while ago with the original dialogue and suggested alterations, if you want to see it let me know and I'll send it to you.

Alright, I think I will have the first act completed until there. I will add more paths to reflect the roles chosen. I think we'll get a beta 5.2 soon.

Thanks! I fixed that error now. As dbjwhite said, you are a pro! I will develop a method to treat those kind of mistakes early. It's better to get it right from the beginning.

Glad I could help out. :) That's a great list of things for the next beta. It almost seems too soon to be looking forward to it given that you just posted the 5th one last week, but after seeing that list.......yeah, whenever it ends up being released, it's going to be awesome! :D I've only played a little of this new beta fix so far, but it's great that you fixed so many things so quickly. Those scenes flow perfectly now, with none of the previous bugs in sight! Oh, though I did spot one in Mack's act 2 scene if you choose the top option during the first dialogue choice (the scream), after a few lines of dialogue there's one with Mack's name, yet the dialogue seems to indicate the name of the person speaking should be Shepherd ("BUT I AM A BUTCH GUY! ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT! Let's forget about this!"). But that seems like a fairly minor thing. Thanks for all the hard work you put in to getting this beta out. It's really great, and a great look at how awesome this game will ultimately be when everything is finished and fully-formed. Until then we look forward to whatever you've got in store, and keep up the excellent work!
