Bali MBS Update

Hello! Another sample and the last one for Bali by the way. I would love to post more samples of the 4th par.t But like I said in the previous post, I need to mount the different parts on flash first.

I mounted this picture just to show something right now, it will look better on the game, the arms better placed, the breasts too.

I post two versions, one with the mask and other without it. If you choose to see the masked version instead, I will just stop the animation of the destruction of the helmet. And the growth will proceed normally. I am still thinking in a nice way to give that option. I could do like Mack, you just check and uncheck a box. It would be easy. I like easy things.

And what do you think of her face? The "puppy eyes" are too much? And the hair? 

RIGHT! I am thinking in moving right to Masara's MBS. I am kinda in the "animation zone" now. Or I could insert the Bali's MBS graphics in the game and build another mini-beta. Oh, and finally finish the layouts of the FMG reports. Hrrrrmmmm...

I think the eyes are fine, they go well with the hair, at the end of the day she has to look different being that she is an alien after all.

WOW! That would be nice! THAT is a WONDERFUL idea! The mask is so banged up you would need just to "poke" it to break it apart. But you would have a time window to do that. That's a great idea! I will try to implement that.

Yes, you are helping. Her face isn't really important. That's why I want to offer the possibility of keeping her helmet. I know some people have some others ideas about her face. The mystery is a huge factor for the character.

About the helmet remove option, I realized something now: The text will need to reflect the choice. Shep will comment about seeing her face for the first time and it wouldn't make sense if she is still wearing the helmet... I could put the option on the start screen page, this way you would only be able to select it in there. Yeah, I will keep drawing the graphics while I am still warm.

This is incredible and I can't wait to see more! I sure hope this is at the beginning of her final bulk-up, I can't help but want our purple goddess to keep growing. I do think the helmet without the hood looks strange, so I think you should at least have the hood continue to be there, even if part of it is hanging off in tatters. The face you designed it pretty cute and I don't mind it at all. As for a toggle, you could have a checkbox, but what if the player was able to click to on her mask to release it (instead of breaking it) at the right moment during a specific conversation choice?

I'm against all this "showing her face" thing, since we never saw it in the original game, and not only that was ok, but also gave her some mysterious atmosphere that, in my humble opinion, increased the complexity and depth of the character. That said... for her face, you should focus on showing her as " cute and innocent" or "shy and gentle", since those were her major traits. BUT no idea how to do that myself, so i guess I'm not helping here :S

Wow, she is looking super-pumped indeed!! You've really done a fantastic job with this whole sequence! She looks like she could re-take her home world from an army of Geth single-handedly with those muscles! XD Awesome work! As for the helmet, ticking a box like Mack's tattoos would certainly be one (and probably the easiest) option (and easy *is* good!). Another way could possibly be to have it be a dialogue choice perhaps, or something you choose in the dialogue wheel at the appropriate time (like when Lima is "attacking" you after her MBS). But without knowing anything about coding I have no idea how easy that would be (and probably not as easy as the box, as you say). But I'm sure it'll be effective however you decide to implement it. I like her hair now that I see it with the shading rather than just the flat colours, too (which I suspected might be the case; either that or I'm just getting used to it ;) ). It gives it a bit more volume. And the eyes I've always liked. She's supposed to be the "nice, cute girl" after all, so the eyes do a good job of reflecting that. In a way it almost feels stranger to see her without the headdress part of her helmet than without any of it at all, which I didn't expect to be the case. But that just makes it extra good that there's the option to have both! As for what you should do next, my vote is for "whatever you'd prefer!" If you're in an animating mood right now then moving on to Masara's MBS seems like might be good for keeping you motivated. As much as I'm looking forward to seeing Bali's MBS most of all these sequences there's no rush, so I'm more than happy to wait and save the surprise of seeing it for the first time until later when the game or another beta are complete. Either way whatever you choose it'll be awesome one way or another! :D
