The future comes

Every artist at least once in their life dreamed of having a "make it beautiful" button, but everyone wished that only they had such a button).

As you might have guessed already today I would like to touch upon AI images.
I'm sure each of you have already seen what special neural networks for generating images can do.
Frankly speaking, the latest achievements shocked me.
I used to calm myself with the fact that neural networks can't do stylistics, and also that generated images are usually easy to distinguish from drawn images.
Well... apparently that's in the past. I have to admit, I can no longer distinguish generated work from drawn work.

For months now, I've been seeing more and more new "artists" starting their creative journey right from the "Masterpice" level.
The performance of these newcomers is impressive to say the least.
I found it hard to get away from the idea that a neural network makes learning how to draw and gaining experience simply meaningless(

This has strongly affected my motivation and has aggravated already complicated moral state associated with the events in my country (
Frankly speaking, last year was very difficult, I hardly managed to find motivation in myself ...
I have always tried to put positive emotions into my works, but it is very difficult to do this when I feel very sad.
I feel I need a break to contemplate, come to terms with the situation and decide what to do next.

I will be spending the next couple of months at the countryside with very bad Internet connection, and honestly I would like spend time for animation learning.
I've been wanting to do this for a long time, but couldn't find the energy to do it.
For this reason I want to ask:
- how would you react if the next couple of months I will draw only sketches?
Of course I cannot go on without drawing, it is part of me, but I'm afraid I am just physically unable to learn new things without breaking my normal routine.
Especially since it's the beginning of the journey that is the hardest.

Also, coming back to the topic of neural network, I want to study it as well. However unlike animation here I feel the necessity...
I feel that approach to creativity is changing, and that in the near future it will be necessary to understand how a neural network works.
This raises a second serious question:
- Do you have any interest in the generated pictures?
If yes, then I could create a separate category of jobs and do the generation based on your requests.

The third serious question concerns using neural networks in drawing. That is, when, for example, color and lighting is done with using a neural network. How do you feel about it?

I will be glad to hear your thoughts)

P.s.
"We'll teach you to draw in a week like a master" - now a reality.
The Writers have a holiday, now they can use their skill in drawing.

Comments

In contrast to a lot of people your reaction is very calm. I really respect that despite your worries, you are not straight up rejecting the new technology, but you try to understand it. Also good luck with learning animation!

Danger Above

AI generated pictures is a product. Fast, efficient, good enough product. I would gladly accept it as a tool for something like concept art, or contextual illustrations. But your art is much more than just an image. Your art is you, the person who shares love for something valuable to me. Who feel what I feel, and who spends part of his life creating something that will bring joy to a stranger. And I'm glad that there's someone like you) AI can approximate your style perfectly, but I don't care... I still want you
