2025-04-17 01:08:35 +0000 UTCPLEASE watch the mini series!!! That mini series was my gateway drug to the universe of Uncle Steven. I had never read or seen anything based on his stuff prior to this. I immediately checked the book out of the library and have been a Constant Reader ever since!! I have such love for Tim Curry's Pennywise, but as a horror fan I β₯οΈ what this adaptation did. Fun note:Finn (young Ritchie) wanted Bill Hader to play the older version and am so glad they got him. Spit on Casting across the board. Also, the actor who was the older Ben is in the reboot series of Beauty and the Beast. He is fantastic in that as well!

2025-04-02 04:17:36 +0000 UTCThe miniseries is A MUUUUUUUUST. I found it when I was 10 in the early 90s and would rent it from the video store until I wore the tapes out. Very different vibe than this update, and there are things it does better (!) and things it does not so better, lol. Bonus Jonathan Brandis as young Bill! And Seth Green as young Richie! I still kind of hate that they felt the need to update the time period in the remake and appreciate the miniseries being set in the original period of the book. Would love to see your take on it <3

2025-04-01 20:44:26 +0000 UTCGosh, I was OBSESSED with this movie when it came out. Reddie (Richie x Eddie) is a very popular ship in the fandom and I ate up so much fan content of that ship. One of my first experiences in internet fandom was with this ship. I love them and loved that it was hinted at the end of the movie with Riche carving R+E on the tree. Also, Jame McAvoy my beloved. The biggest crush on this man.

Iβm not sure why these films got so much hate, they were well done, some moments of CGI with Pennywise werenβt great but overall, pretty good. The beginning scene at the fair turns my stomach because that crap happens every day and for what? Nothing. Hate it. And sidenote, when the little girl goes under the bleachers at the baseball game and Pennywise starts talking to her, if you close your eyes and just listen to his voice in the beginningβ¦.that could be Winnie the Pooh! I promise you! I canβt unhear it now ππ

2025-03-31 18:00:58 +0000 UTCI do enjoy the movie for the most part. My issues with it are the overuse of CGI, making several of the scary moments too cartoonish. The fact that the ending in the book was so crazy and complex but in the movie they turned the ritual into a minor plot point. And there are a couple scenes where the music doesn't match what's happening. Like the director was trying too hard to make it be like Deadpool. Other than that, it's not bad. But the first movie is FAR superior.
