Never thought a kid's show would be able to go so dark and yet stay appropriate, getting the message across about the importance of consent through Garnet's reactions. Steven doesn't think in adult terms at all and he doesn't need to. But I think Rebecca Sugar was very conscious that there would be young people watching SU who are going through all kinds of tough times, and who might really appreciate Garnet with her themes of identity and love and respect.
