Peridot feels like a definite Zim reference sometimes. "[I did the thing] praise me, praise me!" is an actual Zim line. Always cracks me up

None of the episodes were scripted, relying on mostly improvised dialogues. The co-creators split after the show was canceled, with one of them going on to make Metalacolypse and the other Bob's Burgers.

If you count anime I’d put MHA up there, Neon Genesis Evangelion (for all it’s flaws) is up there too. There’s an old one called Unico and the Isle of Magic that’s one of my absolute favorites too.
