The writers made sure to include an episode to explain how Connie feels, when mayor Dewey decides to turn down the election, Steven feels betrayed because he put so much effort into getting him ready to debate and all of that was thrown away, much like how Connie asked Steven to fuse to fight Topas and Steven just ignored her, then they follow Stevens orders to jump, but he just surrenders. She trained so much to be by his side and fight, but Steven decided for her to just not fight

2023-09-11 15:36:07 +0000 UTCConnie comes off kinda bad here, Steven was abducted, imprisoned, and almost executed, and an entire space faring, warrior race wants you dead for something your mom did and Connie acts like the victim. Steven is literally being mentally destroyed by someone he thought he could trust and now one of the pillars holding up his stability is gone. I get it she's hurt that he didn't trust her, but come on really. I feel like some people kinda forget he's just a kid who didn't get a choice to have a normal childhood and he got dumped with a lot of bad stuff that wasn't his fault
