Also "Hey, I have an idea! Let's try to KILL the chosen one, the saviour of the world... The ONLY person who has a chance to save us all. We should totally kill him before he saves us!"

I *LOVE* the part where Zuko stands up to his father. Definitely one of the best scenes in television history. I can't watch it without saying "Yes! Take that Ozai!".

Diana Cavendish

I literally can't stand the Dai Li. They could easily help to end the war, to save their own kingdom along with the rest of the world, but they choose to help the very people who would destroy the world including their own home... Those people are not only evil, but stupid, heartless, idiots with no sense of loyalty or honour. It would be like helping Hitler to take over the world, even if you come from a race of people he plans to wipe out, and you have an easy chance to kill him and end all of that suffering, but you choose to save him instead. No sympathy for those people. Even when they were doing their jobs as intended, they were CIA levels of corrupt.

Zuko’s speech to his father is one of the absolute best moment of cinematic history for me. I appreciate so so much when a show uses *real language* to express feelings in an unhealthy relationship, it happens in Steven Universe too (with the Malachite fusion, and all the family-centered episode). Real conversations that viewers can use to reflect on their own circumstances and apply to their own lives. It always makes me sob to know that people will progress in their lives because of a piece of media.

Hey, thanks so much for getting that corrected link out, and I'm really sorry to vanish on you when you were being so prompt in getting it taken care of. Real life stuff intervened and dragged me away from the computer. Sorry about that. This entire part of the story works much better when the show is not being binge-watched, I think. Because I was Netflix-binging when I first watched this show, only a couple of days for me separated this episode from the scene at the end of Season Two where the Earth King completely blows all chance of the invasion working by spilling the beans to Azula and her crew. The structure here works so much better when you've had more time for that scene to fade from your memory. As things stood, I found myself growing rather impatient with the entire invasion plotline. It's still a great episode, but it reads very differently -- and is *immensely* more dramatically effective -- when more time passes for the viewer between those two events.
