Umbriel liked fry cause he was the first human she met and how interesting he was, Morgan loved fry just cause he was a massive slob, Amy genuinely had fun with fry but as we see amy has had a ton of love interests and edna fell in love with fry due to him exposing her to the concept of love outside of mating. The issue with fry relying on luck for romance is that they, and his luck, doesn't last long.
