Rip Greg’s hair! I really liked the bluebird episode. I thought it was so funny how at first glance, bluebird serving Steven the grass and oysters and peanut butter seems silly, but then you remember those are the three most common allergies and it becomes so deeply heinous. She’s a hoot. I only liked rainbow 2.0s song during the safety episode. Onion episodes really are a weak point in the show. I’m just glad they didn’t try giving us a ronaldo episode 💀 things stop being AS episodic soon :)

Anyway it was pretty obvious to me by this point that Future was going to explore Steven finally being forced to deal with all the deep-rooted issues he’s been ignoring, so I was more than happy to put off the heavy for a few episodes.

At first blush these episodes feel a little disjointed, but pretty soon you’ll see the shape of the plot, and things get HEAVY. The next two episodes you’ll really start to see the shape of things, and after that it starts to move very fast towards the end.

2023-11-17 22:52:36 +0000 UTCThis episode is pretty silly on the surface but it actually kind of encompasses one of the big problems in the entire franchise. Steven is constantly putting so much pressure on himself to help other and fix everything that he ignores his own needs to the point of being a detriment to his own health. I know it seems like just filler but this episode and the series as whole really cements the point that the movie blatantly tells you. There is no happily ever after, life is so much more complex than that.

2023-11-17 18:24:38 +0000 UTCThe su series ended SO fast and there were so many stories that Rebecca wanted to tell, because of the cancelation the series, the ending was rushed and left MANY small and big plot lines open. Every one likes plot twists, that's what keeps us interested in the story, and normally they show the big plot together with the small plot, like Sadie, Lars, the Mayor, Connie. SU future tells more of the small plots without a obvious BIG plot to keep us intrigued, in my opinion this is very important because we only understand the big plot at the end, and it tells us more about Steven's mental state, Wich is ignored in the first series.
