JORDAN PETERSON IS THE GOAT
Added 2021-06-09 21:11:59 +0000 UTCI know I said I was gonna keep this channel from the Patreon but I was convinced to drop this one here too. It's be dope for some dialogue amongst the patreon family. JP is Dope asf though!

Stevie uses the 3rd wave feminism term and understands it, love it! You'll see my name in Knight Talk too, you offer excellent commentary!

2021-07-06 20:41:06 +0000 UTCBecause Stevie hasn’t just casually watched or listened to Jordan Peterson, is one of the main reasons why he can post it with good conscious. Anyone who’s listened to Jordan at length, understands even if they don’t agree with him that the man knows his stuff.

2021-06-26 03:53:16 +0000 UTCThe amount of Peterson hate in these comments legit bums me out.

2021-06-15 04:28:58 +0000 UTC... it is on YouTube... he has a channel for these types of videos...

2021-06-12 04:38:46 +0000 UTCOr you can just google anyone of these names associated w/ IDW and include IDW with the name and have them explain it in their own words. But I guess they can't possibly be honest ppl because you disagree w/ their societal/political views. Which is crazy because a lot of them have a lot of different views. Meaning you probably only actually agree with a very narrow subset of views and I bet I can guess exactly what those are.
Jondiaz
2021-06-12 00:22:48 +0000 UTCLol Jondiaz. That is some real revisionism. The name was chosen as essentially a joke in 2010ish and popularized in 2018 by a NY Times article. 3 minutes on wikipedia and you would have seen that. Come on. You can do better than this, maybe. The name was adopted because someone else popularized it and it was easy to use.

2021-06-11 10:11:24 +0000 UTCMy thoughts- Stevie has brought together people from all walks of life that share their love for music and bars. And in the comments it’s mostly love. Now since someone disagrees with your feelings or beliefs you’re disappointed in the channel? C’mon. I feel like there’s a lot of hate in this world based upon one’s beliefs or thoughts. Why if I think differently than you am I a bad person in your eyes? Why can’t we have a civil conversation about touchy subjects and just listen? I lean right with a lot of things and have tons of friends that are far left. Guess what we do? We talk about shit over a few beers. If we don’t agree, we drop the subject and have another beer. This shit where people hate or try to demonize others based on opposing beliefs is fucking weird and corny to me.

2021-06-11 09:24:09 +0000 UTCFrom what did you form your conclusion of “heavy populated with untraveled, uneducated, impressionable fragile whites”?
Dalton
2021-06-11 09:15:29 +0000 UTCWhy associate a bunch of music and “bar” fans with “Qtards”? A lot of the people I associate with are leftists who are huge fans of JP. I lean right and am also a fan of JP. This is the problem that sort of goes along with the video. Just because someone votes for a certain person doesn’t mean they agree or support everything that person does. Like Stevie said, it was the lesser of the two evils. Not gonna go into the elections but don’t lump everyone into one category based on their beliefs. Listen, learn and have a reasonable dialogue with people. As for JP himself, I think he represents a lot of the simple minded people of this world. The people that don’t look too deep into things. The people that see life for the way it is and that don’t get butt hurt about everything. You said he is “belligerent toward gender issues”. What issues are there on a grand scale? Not the outliers or the 1%. But really, where are the gender issues?
Dalton
2021-06-11 09:10:59 +0000 UTCLove Jordan, his message gets taken out of context and misconstrued too much. Unfortunate things have gotten so politicized.
Jondiaz
2021-06-11 08:43:34 +0000 UTCIt's just a group of people who have different political ideologies agreeing to disagree when necessary but still finding a way to get along with each other. So you have someone like Ben Shapiro (super conservative) being friendly with Sam Harris (way more liberal). They chose a provocative name like "Dark Web" because apparently people with different world views and political ideologies trying to get a long is controversial now.

2021-06-10 20:24:14 +0000 UTCRay - I would be much more open to conversation if you didn't begin by calling people Qtards and Trumpanzees.
Amanda Eddings
2021-06-10 20:01:39 +0000 UTCI think that some of that has to do with the questions he is asked. They are either close ended questions or they are trying to put his back against the wall to get him to say something that he doesn't agree with - he has to be hypervigiliant at all times.
Amanda Eddings
2021-06-10 19:57:30 +0000 UTCBut James, you didn't answer his question. What does JP say specifically that leads you to conclude that he doesn't know what he is talking about? The use of larger words isn't meant to trick people into thinking that he knows more than them. It is just the vernacular in which he is accustomed to speaking with around his colleagues &/or peers. He is not trying to mislead anyone.
Amanda Eddings
2021-06-10 19:48:23 +0000 UTCWhat does IDW mean? Why do you think that he is a con artist , has bad faith, and lazy arguments that push a socially conservative agenda?

2021-06-10 18:29:56 +0000 UTCEveryone should be given the opportunity to see this interview. However, I have to agree that putting such volatile topics such as politics, religion, or other hot button topics on YT is going to create chaos. We are all friends here. We have differences of opinions, true, but who doesn't? As long as we are respectful of each other we are great! This is one of the reasons that I love being a Patreon.

2021-06-10 04:24:48 +0000 UTCRe: Ray. Thanks for taking the time to respond and not just assuming I was trolling, I'm always hesitant to get into potentially contentious discussions. As you figured I'm a fan of Petersons but I'm interested to hear criticism of ideas or philosophies that I agree with to try and keep myself honest. He does place a great deal of importance on belief and faith, arguing that religious belief is a fundamental part of maintaining society. Given his interest in Christianity and his biblical lecture series he does use that model to argue for his beliefs. The gender issues are tough because he is always referencing studies that I haven't looked at personally so I don't really know how reliable they are. With that being said his views seem to just be that there are just some average personality differences between men and women. The free speech issue to me just boils down to whether you buy his stance or if you think it's a veneer for something else, which I personally don't. I agree though that when he connects the ideology behind Trans activists to Stalin its a leap that loses people and he should take more time to explain the connection that he sees. Off the top of my head the video I would recommend is his first appearance on Theo Von's podcast a couple years ago. It's just kind of a wholesome video that I think reflects more of what he really wants to be doing. It humanizes him more and to me separates him from the alt right nutbags who co-opt some of his ideas.

2021-06-10 02:36:08 +0000 UTCWhen will we stop having biased towards someone in the public eye just because a particular group of the public we don’t agree with shows support for the person. Doesn’t mean that person is the leader or talking directly to that group. If someone makes sense and I agree with what they say I don’t care who else likes that person what’s important is that I do and fuck what anyone thinks.
D Rock
2021-06-10 02:31:42 +0000 UTCI’ve watched hundreds of his videos. His lectures are crazy with all the information and thinking and how much sense he makes. I recommend to watch ones of his lecture series. The debates are fire too.

2021-06-10 01:35:16 +0000 UTCI don't see the point in posting this over here too, not like actual conversations are gonna happen, just potential flame wars in comments, what does that achieve? Please please read more into the people you might be highlighting and backing. As an "old" white, I feel like Stevie needs people who are involved and opinionated/trustworthy to help him question, gauge, and validate a lot of things/artists that get brought up in front of him... Feels like a lot of surface level white people forgiveness shit, which sadly this page is heavy populated with untraveled, uneducated, impressionable fragile whites. This interviewer DEFINITELY had her angle and message locked in and wouldn't listen to his oversimplified defense of going by the logical words being used... ignoring the underlying implications. He tries to survive in the unspoken like a defense, when it just as much paints him with his own beliefs.

2021-06-10 01:21:30 +0000 UTCI’m not worried about wether he can hold his water or not. Saying it just might not be a good move for the channel. Right and left hate each other and will eventually push half out if political lines start getting drawn.

2021-06-10 01:19:40 +0000 UTCAs much as I like this kind of thought provoking and open conversation… for the Patreon, more comments than likes is probably not good. I’m following your Knight Talk channel on YouTube that gets into real conversations like this. I like it a lot. We need more open dialogue like this in our country.
Chris
2021-06-10 00:57:46 +0000 UTCI’ve been watching his lectures for years. He’s very thought provoking and brilliant. Another good one to watch is Sam Harris who’s more left leaning. The Jordan Peterson and Sam Harris debates are pure magic.

2021-06-10 00:38:37 +0000 UTCRe: Aaron (can't reply directly in the Patreon app apparently): First, thanks for a chill reply. I know you disagree strongly, and I'm certain you're more familiar with JP's work than I am, so thanks for not just chucking grenades at me haha Secondly, I won't claim any expertise here, my perspective is based on a combination of excerpts from his books/videos, critiques I've read, and the rhetoric/conclusions of his followers, none of which I've consumed in enough quantity to suppose I'm an authority on anything. So, with that said, IMHO: His views on religion / morality / myths basically read like pseudoscience at best, very ethnocentric and condescending. Smarter people than me have made this argument better than I can, but the long and short of it is that JP essentially assigns divinity to a westernized, monotheistic ideal that doesn't hold up to scrutiny. I think he takes an oversimplified, belligerent view toward gender issues, invoking free speech arguments and making wild connections to totalitarianism at seemingly any inconvenience or perceived misalignment with his quasi-Christian ideal. Now, all that said, the guy is extremely intelligent and has read and researched far more than I have. I've enjoyed a number of his talks and certainly don't think the guy is just outright WRONG about the majority of what he says. The guy comes with facts, and when he avoids drawing conclusions I find unreasonable I think he makes a lot of great points and can offer valuable advice to young men. Unfortunately, I must admit that my opinion is also influenced by his vocal supporters among the radical Trump/Q ranks. If you have anything you'd suggest I read/watch (within reason, don't give me a research project lol) I'll take you up on that and give it a fair chance.

2021-06-09 23:02:17 +0000 UTCThe fact that someone has opposition that talk negatively about them doesn't inherently mean that person is wrong. What does he say specifically that leads you to conclude he doesn't know his stuff?

2021-06-09 22:37:44 +0000 UTCJP is just a guy who uses big words to make you think he knows his shit. He doesn't. He doesn't even follow his own "advice" check out some of his adversaries talking about him before you buy into his rhetoric.

2021-06-09 22:35:24 +0000 UTCJordan Peterson is a savage. You have to check out his book- 12 rules for life. It’s a great read. He create these amazing metaphors in each chapter that are pretty mind blowing.

2021-06-09 22:31:30 +0000 UTCI haven’t really listened much to Jordan Peterson tbh, I know a lot of folks seem to absolutely detest him….I guess he must be doing something right maybe? This interview was frustrating, they kept trying to put words in his mouth and ignore what he was actually saying to them. A bit of a microcosm of where discourse is at these days.

2021-06-09 21:50:05 +0000 UTCI'll admit I was very disappointed to see this post. I haven't watched yet, because honestly I don't want to see Stevie getting all hyped up about what this guy has to say. Peterson overwhelms first-time listeners with his eloquence and passion, especially guys who are sensitive about masculinity. I love this channel damnit, and I really don't want to see a big influx of belligerent Qtards. My two cents on JP: Peterson is well educated and well spoken. I appreciate a lot of what he tries to convey about IQ and the complicated environment young men face in today's society. If you're a struggling young guy who's confused about his place in the world and feels like he can't find a purpose, a lot of what JP has to say will resonate on a personal level and may even help you "straighten yourself out". However, he's also a pandering troll who oversimplifies social issues so his cult of bitter white guys with overwhelming victim narratives have snappy quotes to plaster on their social media pages. He would've voted for Trump, and he knows his books sell almost exclusively to Trumpanzees, thus the content and tone of his rhetoric have evolved to corner that market rather than maintain his intellectual honesty.
