This is what Paul Rosenberg had to say about it: 20 short years ago today we released Eminem’s third Aftermath/Interscope album THE EMINEM SHOW! There was a song that Proof and Denaun Porter always loved and begged Em to release, called “Jimmy, Brian and Mike” that for whatever reason he just never finished beyond demo stages. A couple months ago for this EXPANDED EDITION release Em went back to the lab, recalled the sessions, finished the chorus and put the touches on it so that it could be included in the Bonus Tracks added to the album – along with some previously unavailable for streaming gems like “Stimulate”, freestyles, instrumentals and live performances including Eminem’s legendary first headline NYC show at Tramp’s and others. I believe Proof and Denaun LOVED jimmy Brian and Mike but it wasn’t finished and didn’t make the cut for MMLP

2022-05-27 19:24:39 +0000 UTCI think a lot of it was kinda sentimental for him. Most of the live stuff is from a show he did at Tramps, which was a legendary show. Fat Joe remembers seeing him at it and has spoken about it. Em was going so crazy he had to be held on stage by people grabbing onto his pants. Jimmy, Brian, and Mike was for Proof (RIP) and Denaun. They loved it and had begged him to put it out when he was doing MMLP, but he never finished it back then. I think the two songs from the show in Japan may have been added to help Proof's family. Em listed Proof as a featured artist in the credits for those, which likely means his family will get some royalties. It's a very Em type thing to do.

2022-05-27 17:53:02 +0000 UTCUm... 'cuz of the 20 year anniversary... :D Same thing happened with SSLP back in '19. So I assumed (correctly) that this was going to be the same thing. A bunch of already heard freestyles, live performances and instrumentals added + maybe 1 vaulted song touched up a little. Now I just wonder why they didn't do the same thing in '20 with MMLP. :D Oh, and I also think that these re-releases are more of a label thing. And the extra stuff they put on 'em that we stans heard hundreds of times already are probably new for a more mainstream audience.
