2019-02-12 02:22:18 +0000 UTCThe sparkles were sitting (invisibly on a white background) below panel two and I didn't even know they were there. I often drag elements like that out of panels and leave them off frame to use later. In this case, though, I pulled panels three and four down and suddenly the invisible sparkles were revealed. (They don't show in the regular release of the comic, thankfully.)

2019-02-12 02:21:30 +0000 UTCWell, Hannah is based at least in part on my childhood friend's mom. Like Hannah, she also could only see vague shapes and colors. The craziest part? Her big hobby was jigsaw puzzles. Just through memory, and holding each piece right up to her eye so she could see the general shade of it, she could assemble 1000 piece puzzles without difficulty. She was amazing.
