Because last prom, the king and queen were NOT a couple, and I was surprised due to the king and queen usually being a couple (or at least dates to the prom) on previous proms. The girls reported that it was customary to vote for couples, if you knew the couples in question. Amongst high school girl society, voting for individuals is bad form. So the prom king and queen are often a couple, though not always. The wild card is high school boys, who tend to vote for the dude-iest dude bro and throw the whole couple thing out of whack.

It's been quite a while though since high school, but when we voted it wasn't for a couple, so usually the King and Queen didn't show up together to my memory. Does Tyler have some massive cred in his school that we're all unaware of because of his association with Daphne, or is it a Canadian thing to vote on couples?
