2020-04-21 13:35:47 +0000 UTCOne of the best stupid rock songs. By one of the best stupid rock bands. And really, I don't think Randy Bachman would take offense at that. He was an insanely talented guitarist who got kicked out of the Guess Who (for getting sick for a few weeks, might I add), and then he was like, "What do I do now?" So he got his brother and a few other local guys together to start a new band, but there was one problem: none of the other guys could really play. And that's what B.T.O. is: it's a hilarious experience in working with what you got. Like, listen to 'Taking Care of Business.' It's the simplest, dumbest song ever that could be played by talentless hacks (because most of the band was talentless hacks) but then Bachman's soaring, searing guitar comes in and it elevates it. It's magical. I could write a lengthy thesis on the wonder that is B.T.O.
