Some Animation Experimentation! Featuring: Yark!
Added 2022-11-22 09:33:05 +0000 UTCPatreon's lack of embedded video makes it inconvenient to share videos (if you know of some way that works for .mp4's please share!), so you're just going to have to trust me and check out the Imgur link to see today's experimental art (or download the full quality animation; it's linked as an attachment).
If you needed convincing, here's a glimpse of how the 30 second animation starts. I think you can see where this is going!

I started working on this animation experiment in preparation for more intense animated scenes for A Very Full House. In particular I wanted to see if I could make emphasis popups - "gag", "plap", "twitch", that sort of thing - work in a convenient way. The approach I used here works alright for non-interactive animation, but I think I'll have to figure out a different approach for A Very Full House. That means you'll probably see some more experimentation in future. I also want to experiment with drawing/animating x-ray views, so I'll probably combined those two into one project.
In other A Very Full House news, I've finished drawing the art for the Jock! Next up I need to bring it into Live2D, rig it up, and export it out so it's ready to be used in game. I should have that done in the next couple of days, then I can move onto writing new events for the game!
Leave a like and consider sharing this animation on Reddit or Twitter or whatever if you liked it - it lets me know you're interested in seeing more content like this and that it's worth the time to polish up and release my practice projects!
