I really think that we don’t fully understand the creative process between Lee and his artists. Add to that the self-promoting that Stan did and I’m not sure we’ll ever know who was more important to the success of the various Marvel heroes that we all love. But I think that for Marvel as a whole, you have to give the nod to Stan.

2019-01-22 17:39:12 +0000 UTCWhat clinches it for me in choosing Stan is looking at Kirby's DC work when left to his own devices. The creativity is unquestioned, but Stan had a grasp on world-building and connecting to the reader on a very personal level that was unmatched in the industry.
