Paying

Blaze was waiting for his equipment’s completion inside the shaking Arcadia.

His comrades around him were doing the same.

「Will it be ready soon?」

「Yeah, soon. As I thought money is mighty.」

「We can get a ton of rare materials with that after all.」

Blaze and his comrades were excited.

Blaze was also waiting with his arms crossed.

The craftsman players approached them.

「Sorry for the wait~」

One craftsman greeted them with a sluggish tone. They brought with them the new equipments for Blaze’s party.

They obtained the materials by buying them using real money. They did for almost all of the required materials.

Those equipments couldn’t e created solely with only paid items, but  it was also a fact that they could be created easily if player used real  money. In the first place the rare items that couldn’t be obtained  through paying were gathered by the guild.

A craftsman player wiped his sweat.

「Ahaha~, it was a pain that the success rate is so low. We failed more than twenty times and a part ended up wasted.」

Blaze wore the silver equipments over his body.

「……This is it. This is what I wanted!」

Blaze was a diligent guy, but he was actually extremely weak against the temptation of paid item.

Ponsuke’s policy was that paid items were limited to 20000 yen per  month, so he obeyed that but……frankly he wanted to use his money real  bad.

The craftsmen had used up all the rare items that the guild stored up to create equipments for the players.

Blaze and his friends were deeply moved seeing the new equipments. And then they tested the usage.

「Yosh, let’s raid them like this!」

Blaze’s group rushed to outside and――.

「Ah, that floating island is on fire!」

「Aa~a, they got one over us. Which one should we target?」

One of the floating islands surrounding Arcadia was enveloped in fire  and falling. Blaze’s group saw that sight――and anxiously wondered if  there was still anything left for them.

「Anyway let’s hurry!」

They got on a flying ship that looked like a mall boat and started heading toward an enemy’s floating island too.

On a building’s rooftop.

Mariela was watching a floating island sinking from there. She guessed who did it.

「That Alfie is showing off.」

Mariela had erased her presence and sneaked into this floating  island. From that rooftop she could see the floating island’s  bridge……she aimed her arrow toward there.

In the first place, she was just a student so she couldn’t spend too much money for buying items.

So Mariela only bought healing items――and several special arrows.

「Those guys are just wasting money. Even though just this much is enough」

She said that and fired the arrow. It broke through the window and entered inside the bridge――where it exploded.

The long and narrow building was created using a warship’s bridge as the model.

All the windows were blown away.

Mariela confirmed that and fired her next arrow.

This time it created smoke.

Purple smoke leaked out from the windows. Mariela put on a muffler in  the place of mask and put away her bow. She threw wire toward the  bridge and jumped from the rooftop toward the long and narrow building.

She climbed up the wall and infiltrated inside the bridge from the  window. There she saw the figures of players shining red and vanished.

「Aa~, two people survived huh.」

Two players were remaining. Perhaps they had resistance toward bad status.

The two didn’t notice Mariela’s infiltration. They were looking  around in confusion at the surrounding, wondering what just happened.

Mariela took out a knife and stabbed the two from behind. They turned  into red light and nobody else was left in the bridge. She then started  working on the control.

「The control panel is simple. As expected they don’t make it complicated like with ours.」

The control panel was like a game controller. There was no problem in using it to move the floating island.

Because――.

「Yosh, let’s go to that floating island.」

――Even Mariela could use it to control the island.

The floating island’s engine raised its output and the island sped up.

There was a call from an allied guild.

『Oi, you guys are getting too close! Don’t move over here!』

Mariela grinned and raised the speed.

There were flying ships between the two floating islands. They got slammed one after another by the island’s charge and sank.

「Well, something like this I guess.」

Mariela jumped out from the bridge’s window when she saw that the island would collide.

Enemy players ran up into the bridge and yelled the moment they entered inside.

Mariela went outside and broke into a run. She used her whistle to  call for her horse――pegasus that was waiting for her to come and jumped  on it. She immediately flew away from the island. At the same time the  distance between the two floating islands had become too close.

The other floating island fired its cannons but, there was no way  something like that could slow down the approaching gigantic object and  they crashed.

A part of the floating island collapsed. And then the two guilds were sinking toward the ground.

Mariela saw that and laughed.

「Paid items aren’t everything!」

She immediately started moving toward her next prey.

Fran was drinking several paid items while bombardment was raining down around her.

She was using various items including items to boost her status.

And then last――she took out the paid item for Dragonia race’s usage.

It had the same effect like Ponsuke and other orc’s strengthening.

It enabled the user to transform into dragon.

But, the player wouldn’t get any experience or drop item if they fought using that.

It only turned the user into dragon.

Even so it was a suitable item for the current situation.

Fran wiped her mouth. Her horn grew large and scales formed on her skin.

「I’ll blow up the small fries on our way!」

Noin was assisting Fran.

「Do your best Fran-chan!」

Fran’s body grew huge. A dragon appeared there and flew up toward the sky.

Noin got on her back. She was holding a staff that was a paid item.

Fran felt strange being in a dragon form like this.

「It feels like this is my body from the start. Now then, where should we start from?」

「Isn’t it fine to start from the closest one? Let’s do that one.」

Fran headed toward the closest flying ship. Noin held up her staff and started preparing to fire magic.

Fran and Noin were targeting the annoying flying ships.

There were a lot of flying ships surrounding and bombarding Arcadia.  These flying ships that were steadily dealing damage with their cannons  were nuisance.

The dragon charged a flying ship and smashed through the deck, infiltrating the inside.

Fran opened her mouth and breathed out flame.

One flying ship sank from the dragon’s attack. It caused the surrounding flying ships to change target to Fran.

Noin raised her staff.

「Oh no you don’t. it’s cowardly to gang up on someone like this.」

She spoke cutely but――multiple magic circles formed around Noin.  Magic was fired one after another from there toward the flying ships.

Noin watched the result.

「As expected they don’t sank. Fran-chan, I’ll leave them to you.」

「Sheesh……hold on tight.」

Fran charged toward a damaged flying ship. She opened her mouth and fired out flame.

The number of the flying ships was getting reduced in succession like that.

Inaho and Anri were watching the sight of the flying ships getting reduced in number.

「Fran-san and Noin-san are going loud.」

Anri turned her gaze toward Lily.

She wasn’t holding any weapon. She was just standing still while crossing her arms.

She purchased mercenary NPCs and dispatched them in large scale.

The mercenary NPS would last for two hours, but they would vanish if  they were defeated. Lily was sending such force in hundreds without  stopping.

Battles were breaking out everywhere on the relatively large floating island.

The players were getting surrounded by the relatively high leveled NPCs and taken down.

The players also weren’t losing.

Some of them could even defeat ten or twenty NPCs on their own.

The players could revive in their guild base even if they were defeated, but their level was going down from the death penalty.

Inaho felt pity for the opponents.

「It feels like almost all of the buildings has been flattened. Those players look like they’re saying something.」

When she focused her hearing to their voice,

The players were losing even their willpower to fight back from getting chased by the NPCs that kept swarming them.

Lily put her hand on her cheek and sighed.

「Haa, it’s over so easily just from me spending a bit of money.  Saving money is also important but, using money is also the right move  if you consider the time and effort that can be saved using it. Ponsuke  should learn how to use money more.」

Lily said that while grinning and ordered 300 more NPC.

Anri invited Inaho.

「Then, let’s go aim at the enemy’s headquarters. We need to sink this  place quickly and go to the next one. I got this special bomb from  Lighter.」

Inaho’s shoulders dropped.

「You’re too lighthearted Anri-san. Please be more serious. But, there are still a lot of enemies remaining so let’s go I guess.」

Inaho dashed away. She was gone from that place in an instant.

Anri made a large jump. She leaped over the NPCs and players――toward the castle where the headquarters seemed to be located.

Inaho sprinted on the ground and took down the players who were on her way one after another.

The enemy guild was said to be a large guild with a lot of members.

But they were trampled on by the NPCs and their level dropped drastically――Inaho and Anri curbstomped them at that moment.

Their player skill and their prided equipment couldn’t cover up the  gap from their decreased level. They were getting trampled down easily.

Lily looked exasperated.

「Those two are really energetic. It’ll be over even if they don’t do anything.」

There was explosion inside the castle that Anri entered. Then the floating island was sinking gradually.

Lily thought that it was over and returned to the board that she used to come to this island.

As for the flying ships, they were getting downed one after another even right at this moment.

The encirclement was breaking down. The strategy to surround Arcadia failed.

Tom gritted his teeth.

「What’re you guys doing! Tell the remaining guilds to surround and beat them up!」

『Save us Tom!』

The guild master was a player with long ass name of [Erevant Reva Kreisruft].

『Those guys. Those guys are coming!』

「You got boarded? Just surround them and beat them back. Those guys are far fewer than us!」

『There’s no way we can! You said to leave those guys to you if they come out! Ah, the wall collapse……gyaaaaa!』

Kreis’s shriek resounded inside the bridge. The fortified floating island exploded in flame and sank slowly.

The fifth floating islands was sunk with this.

Tom looked toward the collapsing floating island and saw berserk orcs rampaging around.

Tom hit the wall.

「Fuck! Those guys abandoned their base and came hitting us!」

Tom lost his composure, but he took a deep breath and reined in his emotion.

「……Oi, if those guys are going out into offense, that means that they’ve abandoned defense right?」

The hardcore clearer [Cathy] replied to Tom’s question. For a  hardcore player like them, appearance and name were nothing more than  the fashion for that day.

They were only choosing the template appearance that the game provided for them.

「That’s the only thing that we can think of. No matter how you look  at it, their base looks solid. It’s not a bad idea to go around crushing  other guilds while the base is holding out.」

Tom thought.

(If we go for all-out attack, there’ll only be support players remaining there won’t it? ……We should finish this up in one go.)

The sixth floating island was sinking while that was going on.

(Our side will be in danger at this rate. This battle will be over if I send in the hardcore players. This is the only way.)

Tom immediately suggested――ordered all the guilds to board Arcadia.

「Ram them. Board their base and ransack it!」

Naia was standing on a sinking floating island.

Her daughter’s avatar was at her side. There were also Blaze and others around them.

(Well, they’re the one picking this fight though.)

Then the guild master stood on their way as they moved to escape the sinking island.

Blaze’s group had quickly destroyed the engine room――the guild’s core as soon as they boarded this island.

Everything was already over when the guild master came running after giving out instructions.

The guild master was crying while holding up his weapon.

「You guys……how dare you do this. You don’t understand what kind of  things we had gone through to create this base! This place is our  home……our everything……I’ll never forgive you guys! Never!」

Blaze slashed at the guild master, but the opponent was also really skilled and blocked the attack.

「Kuh!」

Blaze got pushed back. The guild master laughed.

「I’m dragging down you guys to hell together with us! Sink along with ussss!」

In respond to that guild master, Naia gently put down her daughter on the floor.

「Okaa-san?」

「Wait for a bit here okay?」

Her smile immediately turned severe.

The minotaurus Naia gripped her battle axe and charged toward the guild master.

The guild master blocked her downward swing with his sword――his feet sank into the floor.

「You damn monsterrrr!」

Naia put even more strength into her axe toward the guild master who was hanging in there.

「This is just my personal opinion but」

「What, you monster!」

Naia dispassionately continued to speak while putting even more strength into her arms.

Blaze’s group nodded their head up and down wordlessly and followed behind Naia.

Blaze lifted up the daughter in his arms and ran in order to escape the island.
