Chapter 18 – Brigade Alliance

A while after the Lion King’s attack on the Empress Brigade was halted.

Because a lot of things were becoming chaotic, we gathered in the  Empress Brigade’s drawing room in order to talk calmly for the time  being.

Lion King stuffed her cheeks happily with the served tea and snacks while talking about her reason for attacking.

「Haha, I’m sorry for making you misunderstand young man! To be  truthful I had no intention to seriously destroy the Empress Brigade. I  heard the talk that the Empress Brigade suddenly became weak while we  are looking to form an alliance. I just thought about checking the  situation as well as rousing them up again! The alliance discussion is  still in the suggestion stage and kept secret from the surrounding, so I  pretended to launch an attack! Even so――」

The Lion King stopped talking in the middle for some reason. She got down from her chair and ran toward me.

「You were really charming when you stopped my attack you man. That  combat strength that is unbelievable coming from a human child, the  courage to face this me head on. It isn’t  only that muscularly handsome  appearance, you’re also a distinguished character inside who is worthy  for this me to offer my love. That’s why, okay? Will you become my  mate?」

「Wai-, I’m telling you I can’t Lion King-san!」

The Lion King leaned forward while fawning on me with a soft, coaxing voice. I desperately pushed her back.

It was then.

*Gakiin!*

「Tsu!?」

Suddenly, a shockwave from weapon colliding on weapon reverberated inside the room.

Just when I thought what happened――the claws that the leopard  beastman Liza-san swung down got blocked by the Lion King’s battle axe  that could change size.

In addition Stacy-san was invoking abyss magic with both her hands. She was glaring at the Lion King together with Liza-san.

「Oi Lion King. How long you’re planning to screw around you bitch? Move away from that guy you sex-obsessed……!」

「If you don’t quit it already, I’ll blow you away until not even a dust of you remain you know……?」

The two leaders of Empress Brigade were surrounded with terrific mana and killing intent blowing fiercely.

I was shaking 「Tsu!?」 seeing the two of them like that. Meanwhile the Lion King only treated it like a breeze.

「……Hmmm. I see now. I heard you guys became wimpy but, this naked  jealousy and lack of composure. In short you two got yourself a man and  mellowed down huh. The empress and thug who are feared by this city’s  adventurers have gotten adorable.」

「What’s with your irritating smirk……! It looks like you really want to die here aren’t you……!?」

*Crackle crackle crackle crackle!*

The Empress and the Lion King were glaring at each other with me at the middle.

That terrific clash of mana made me wanted to run away from here right away for some reason.

By the way.

Stacy-san who was this hostile against Lion King could notice so  quickly that the dragonman beautiful girl = Lion King, was apparently  because she had heard about the Lion King’s actual race and the curse  directly from the person herself. Or rather it seemed that after the  Lion King drifted to this dungeon city, she was talking about her curse  quite often to everyone, so her true identity was quite famous among the  dungeon city’s influential people and long time adventurers.

But, a middle-aged man with such vicious face claiming that 「My true  identity is a dragonman girl!」 was just too absurd, so as expected even  the Lion King eventually stopped announcing about her curse. Because of  that the people who didn’t know about it became the majority.

Well, putting aside that background story…….

In order to change the atmosphere inside the room that felt like it  would devolve into trying to kill each other, I returned the talk to the  main topic.

「Err, by the way umm, in the end what is going on about this Empress Brigade and Lion King Brigade trying to form an alliance?」

As could already be seen from the example right now where the Empress  and the Lion King were exchanging words with murderous intent right  before me, the three brigades that were ruling over this dungeon city  had been in tense rivalry since the past.

Interests surrounding the dungeon, pride, long lasting  resentment……there were various reasons but, that rivalry was still  continuing strong even until the present.

「And yet there’s talk of alliance……. Furthermore Lion King-san even  spoke about rousing up the Empress Brigade for forming the alliance, why  going that far?」

「Aa, well, to put it simply」

Lion King and the others regained their serious atmosphere after I asked my question.

And then the Lion King looked like she was taking a little time to  choose her words before telling me this without any vagueness.

「We want to join hands in order to crush the craziest brigade in this dungeon city’s history――the Battle Princess Brigade.」

「……Eh?」

That statement wasn’t a joke or anything.

What flashed at the back of my head after hearing that was the happy  face of the prodigy adventurer, the Battle Princess Sofia Barnard-san  when eating meal together with us in the dungeon last time.
