To answer a few questions that aren't spoilers: * Belters live and work in space, and come from a variety of Earth cultures and languages, so they speak a creole (known as LangBelta, which you can actually learn!) and also their own sign language; because they spend so much time in spacesuits and may or may not be able to speak, they formed a whole set of gestures that one can distinguish even when your bulky suit makes it difficult - and they carry over into places without suits. That little "crossed-fingers" Naomi makes at Lt. Lopez is the middle finger, because you can't flip a bird in a pressurized suit glove. * The tall Martian, Lt. Lopez, was popping a focus drug that essentially lets him notice tiny movements, like facial ticks and eye-blinks one might have when they're lying or withholding information - great for interrogations. And since Belters are so used to speaking with their hands, Lopez was getting frustrated that he couldn't read Naomi because she kept folding her arms. Neat huh? This whole episode was basically pointing out how differently Belters communicate.
