I think the blank/single color jigsaw also shows Kim's attempts to stay mentally stimulated. They're much harder to do.

This episode puts so much light on the contrast between where Jimmy and Kim have gone. We saw the contrast at the end of Fun and Games, where Jimmy as someone who never acknowledges his mental health (probably from being put down by Chuck so much) denies all accountability and Kim, who has emotional intelligence, does the right thing of running away however she couldn't talk about her emotions for years which leads to that massive breakdown on the bus. Kim forces herself into a life that's boring to her to stop herself, however Jimmy cannot stop himself (which forces him to get himself jailed for life in the finale). What's interesting is in the last episode we saw Jimmy on a crossroad, resembling all the paths he could take. And after Howard's wife asks Kim "why are you doing this?" we cut to a road, resembling Kim getting off of that "bad choice road". Also one last thing to note is Jimmy in the flashback scene pretending he doesn't care for Kim anymore is almost exactly how Chuck behaved in his last conversation with Jimmy. Jimmy did not see that Chuck was putting on a front. You have the viewpoint in this video that Kim is over Jimmy however the way she looks at him in this scene is like she's frustrated because she knows he's putting on a front, but decides to ignore it and move on. Because the one thing Jimmy couldn't do was move on - change to a different road.

Other thought is on the incredibly scary end with Marion and Jimmy as a con man that has preyed on the vulnerable like the elderly in the past. By this point Jimmy has so thoroughly fallen that it seems feasibly that he could strangle her, hence why when this aired live myself and many viewers at least had those seconds of worry, which is a credit to the show and Bob Odenkirks acting. I saw some people say that after he didn't kill Marion it's because "he isn't a killer," but the thing is that no one is a killer until they are; the worst among us aren't necessarily marked for life, someone with the endearing qualities of Jimmy could make a split decision on a lifetime of poor choices to kill, at which point they're a killer on top of everything else in their person Also keep in mind all the death he's helped deal and advocated for, he's killer by proxy as far as I'm concerned but in general- the above is just my thoughts on such crimes. Jimmy's a conman as this episode touches on, and conning people is a series crime, and conmen on the run who kill to escape the consequences when they can't quit their old habits is a tale as old as time; that whole scenario from the picking a familiar victim to the turn towards threats is a very real one. Jimmy is not harmless.

Man, I can't wait for the finale reaction; so much so that by thoughts on this episode blur too heavily into the next. So I have two things to get across in two separate comments, I'll just say that other than being an ode to Bob Odenkirks famously bad singing, the choice in song "The Tide is High" is very apt for the man we're watching cling to his threadbare criminal persona, for a catharsis "who knows what?" that will never come. Like the tape running out in the intro or everyone being dead as he rattled off to Kim, he's not letting go what's gone and never was much of anything at all. I don't think the choice in lyrics is accidental given it was right before everything came crashing down.

I'm not nearly caught up on the reactions but reading this title I just had to leave this comment... Pretty much every time a movie or TV show manages to make me tear up, there is sad music involved. The fact that an actress sitting in a bus crying, with no music at all, did what usually only the best composers in the world could manage is more than impressive!

Listen, I’m the biggest Jimmy apologist there is and even I started to waver during this episode. 😆 A couple of fun facts: Jimmy does sing the Piña Colada song in season two. Also, he calls Kim on his 50th birthday. Interesting how it must’ve made Kim feel to hang up and immediately go sing “happy birthday” to her co-worker. Anyway! Very excited to see what you think of the finale. :)

this episode shows so much. And I get why you feel the way you do. Jimmy has lost himself. But the part that rips the most at my heart strings is you can see that Kim is still very much in love with him, after everything... and then 6 years have passed and all that pain. Her guilt at war. Yes, the puzzle. How hard it is to just have that war waging in your heart for so long. The acting is phenomenal. Even her hands, the way they tremble. For me it shows that their love story was truly a tragedy. It didn't need these horrible, actual deaths to show how tragic it really is.
