Arknights S2 Episode 4 Reaction

Being an avid arknights player I was pretty disappointed because in game the introduction of Blaze and Chi Xiao is a big hype moment and it didn't feel that great here. All I'm hoping is that they are saving up for the HUMONGOUS second part of this arc to really hit us hard.

2023-10-29 15:16:45 +0000 UTCAs a member of Reunion (and later one of its field commanders), Mephisto's Originium Arts manifest in the form of a white powder that only affects the Infected, manipulating and catalyzing Originium growth within the Infected (typically wounded targets) to reanimate them as mindless Possessed controlled by Mephisto; these zombie-like beings are blessed with superhuman durability and regenerative abilities that can be further improved by Mephisto's healing Arts. His powers are also able to further accelerate the infection of the Possessed, greatly amplifying their strength and aggressiveness at the cost of burning away their life force and consequently driving them into a berserk fury where they are unable to distinguish from friend and foe, attacking everything (except Mephisto and his close allies) and forcibly converting victims into more Possessed for the herd.

Thats one thing this episode sadly doesnt do well, which is power scaling. They didnt really show how terrifying and threatening Mephisto's minions and power were. Same for Faust's snipers. They were giving Chen a run for her money until Rhodes Island arrived. And when they arrived, Blaze went crazy. Rhodes Island Elite Operators are the big guns, and we havent really seen that yet. (Other than Ace who was also a Elite Operator)
