Best episode by far it terms of overwhelming strength and showing that there is always someone to turn the world upside down which is why i believe Serie couldn't defeat the demon king with the mindset that she seems to love taking action when the world turns upside down and that reason why she hasn't stopped becoming a mage! Also another interesting speculation is earlier episodes when Frieren said she had been defeated by 11 mages with less mana i bet one of those times was vs a mage in their element like Kanna and the rain which is why she said "i can't" when asking if Denken he could imagine defeating a mage that controls water in the rain! Absolutely beautiful storytelling and on top the ost really showcasing how not just epic but world shattering Frieren is.

Wald (in Waldgose) - Forest As for Gose, its hard to say if it was the Authors intention, since the only "Meaning" behind Gose i could find is about a east German wheat beer that originated in Goslar, Germany and was first brewed in the 13th Century To steal a comment from Reddit, Denken started the fight with Frieren initially on fundamentals. Once that proved it wouldn't work, he switched to a tornado (because the flying spell doesn't work in strong wind). Then, he added in fire, for an omnidirectional attack - which we learned back in episode 3 will quickly drain mana to defend against. Frieren was able to tank through that, so he switched again to a continuous barrage of light arrows to leave no opening (he thought) to counter attack. All of which were ways the show has already shown us to be a way a mage can overcome someone with more mana than them. But Frieren most likely learned from her defeats in the Past/increased her Mana over the last 1000 years continuously. Especially since we dont know how huge her Mana reserves really are. She released it in EP10, but only after she used her dispelling magic several Times and Aura mentioned it uses up a lot of Mana, so we still cant accurately pinpoint how big her Manapool really is.
