The thing I love about this episode, and I'm someone who deeply relates to ishikawa as a character at his age, is yamada understands him better than even people watching the show. She understands that going too fast scares him, and that he is anxious socially, and doesn't take it personally when he sometimes reverts back into that shell. I went through some of the same feelings as him. Even worse, actually. And I wrote violent rap lyrics and stayed to myself, so people thought I was dangerous when I was really someone who would never hurt anybody. Seeing yamada understand him and respect him just hits me emotionally. I wish I had someone in my life like that at that age. Heck, even a grown version now lol I think that's why she said her dad is a lot like him. Her dad is a sweetheart who looks dangerous and intimidating. She doesn't judge. She sees the popular guy who acts creepy as creepy, and the loner with intrusive thoughts as the good guy he is. That's a beautiful personality trait to actually see past the surface. .sorry for ranting lol
