There was a fair amount of added filler to this episode such as the whole attack on the car as they were driving and the rest of the family being at the school. In the manga it was just Taiyo, Mutsumi, and Kyoichiro for this bit with the Bomber (Also the Bomber was hiding on the rooftop of a high rise office building near the school where he watched with Binoculars and Kyoichiro threw the bomb back to him, hundreds of meters away). That said I actually like it. It managed to still stay in line with the original story while touching it up with the added scenes in ways that added character. A great exmple of filler done well to enhance an adaption.
