So far I've yet to find a single man who prefers the heavy makeup look on women. I've seen this discussed on Twitter, Facebook, etc and men are pretty clear on which look they find more appealing. While it is nice to know that men share my view on this, I'll admit that I'm a bit surprised. I was expecting at least a sizable number of men to prefer the picture on the right. I did not anticipate near universal conformity. The question that remains is WHY do men have this preference? You could also ask why women tend to prefer the heavily made up look, but since there are no women here to ask that question we will just look at it from the male perspective. I imagine that guys will give various answers to this, but here is what I believe is the case - most of the time: The picture on the left looks like a good girl, a trustworthy girl. She's not presenting herself to the world as if she needs attention or validation from others. This suggests that she's more stable and content. She's probably going to be more satisfied with her relationship and less likely to betray it. The picture on the right gives the impression of a woman who is very much concerned about how people see her. She seems like she's looking for attention. She's probably out partying more, getting hit on more, facing temptation more, etc. She's more likely to be putting herself in situations that a man doesn't want his partner to be in. She looks more high risk and high maintenance, and quite frankly, who needs that kind of drama? Girls going out looking like the girl on the right... she seems like she'd be more up for a one-night-stand. That's the impression she is going to give vs the girl on the left. The girl on the right is probably going to get hit on by more men, but its also going to be more of the wrong type of man: Men who aren't going to take her seriously. They'll tell her what she wants to hear to get what they want from her, but they won't be as likely to offer her long term commitment. The girl on the left may still get hit on, but when guys see her out with her friends they're going to assume she's already taken. The guys looking for an easy score are more likely to try somewhere else where they figure their odds are higher. If a guy does find out that she is available, he's less likely to assume that she's easy and more likely to see her as a potential long term partner. While men absolutely can be "pigs", most (adult) men do ultimately want a good trustworthy woman. Not just for himself, but to be the mother of his children. Younger men may not be mature enough to be at that point, even for the girl on the left, but by mid to late 20's I'd say men really do start looking for the woman that they want to marry. The fact that men so overwhelmingly picked girl on the left tells you where they'll likely be looking for the one to put a ring on. Just my thoughts. Feel free to challenge me and share an alternative view.

2025-03-12 16:08:10 +0000 UTCBut I actually DO care a little bit about "the dress" (the dress, representing the person's style) because I think how someone dresses *does* tell a little bit of a story about that person. It doesn't define them as a person, but it does tell you a little something about them. Women judge this all of the time. I know women who are very harsh on what a man's shoes look like on dates. If the man dresses up with a nice shirt and pants, but is still wearing tennis shoes, for the women it is an immediate NO GO. Some women, when out meeting men, are looking for guys who dress classy. There are also women who wouldn't give a guy who is dressed classy a second glance because they're looking for guys who fit into another click, such as perhaps a more gothic click. Why would they do this? Because how someone dresses says at least a little something about their values. People tend to look for partners that match their values, and rightfully so. I don't see a problem with that. In fact, I see utility in that. This reminds me of another topic that I will probably post at some point on here.; the risk in pursuing women (or men) who are too good looking. I think the better looking someone is, the less likely they will make a great partner. It's not impossible that such a person would still make a great partner, but I do think there is a correlation here between being extremely good looking and being a poor partner. When a person is THAT good looking and they get constant attention because of it, I think it does have an effect on that person's personality.

The benchpress analogy is one I hadn't thought of. 💪 I would add the caveat, though, that while women may not care how much a man benches, if you posted a side by side picture like this of a man before he got into weightlifting and then after, far more women would choose the after. I have my own thoughts on the image and why men prefer the natural look, but I am hoping a few more fellas chime in. 🙏 This does remind me of another meme I saw before this one. It was a woman talking about how easy men have it, and how hard it is to be a woman because she can't wear the same dress/outfit twice in one week. A guy then dropped the mic on her with a simple fact: Men don't care ONE BIT if a woman wears the same dress twice in a week. The only people who would notice and care are other women. 🤷♂️ I think that does tie in a little bit as to why far more women than men prefer the picture on the right.

Men dont care for makeup on a woman the same way woman dont care about your bench press average. Its all about who you are as a person and how you choose to take care of yourself.

In particular, how men and women see this differently. What I'm curious about is if the trend continues outside of my social circle. The men I know ALL favored the natural look. The women (all except one) preferred the make up look. If that holds true, I'd be interested to hear thoughts on why that is.

2025-03-12 04:18:26 +0000 UTCI personally prefer whatever helps you be happy. Ill never tell somebody they should or shouldnt wear makeup. I have actually never said that to any woman ever. I know this is a non answer. Ive never had a woman or man say to me "hey you shouldnt have facial hair" which is makeup for men. Make up looks great when you do it right, also if you dont wear it and you feel confident about it, then hell yeah. Also wearing make up does not mean you are insecure about your natural looks either. A lot of times, make up just accents your natural look. I dont think people should have a problem with what other woman choose to do with their looks. I enjoy my facial hair because it gives my face depth and some accent to it. Looks great. If there were some girls around at a club looking to chat for example, i dont prefer ones with or without makeup, Ill go with who i personally find attractive and confident. Ive dated both types of woman. I didnt date them for their makeup preferences. We can even use Dasha here. She has shown that she looks great with and without make up on, either way it does not change who she is and her wearing it does not hide anything about her or show lacks of confidence or self esteem.

I think you have to click on the jpg on my post to see the image. It is of the same girl, with the picture on the left being with very little make up, and the picture on the right with heavy make up. Here is what I've been seeing so far-and I am curious if you all feel the same: Men overwhelmingly prefer the more natural look on the left, but women have been overwhelmingly choosing the picture on the right. Even the caption, which was written by a woman, says that men prefer the natural look but women put on the heavy make up FOR OTHER WOMEN. Not for men. That's fascinating. I also posted it on my Facebook and every man chose the picture on the left, and all women-except my mom-picked the more made up picture on the right. Go to my Patreon to see the image and vote. I'm really curious if the trend will hold. If the picture isnt popping up when you click on the jpg, let me know and I can post it by itself.
