By all accounts, though, Martin Scorsese--- was scared to meet David Cronenberg (as one will be). Cronenberg's response to that was: "You're the guy who made 'Taxi Driver,' and you're afraid to meet me?" When they did first meet, in the 1980s, Scorsese felt Cronenberg had the air of a doctor. That inspired Cronenberg to give himself a small role in "The Fly" as--- yes, of course--- a gynecologist.

Your reaction was priceless; I haven't laughed that hard in a while; what can I say? I have a sick sense of humor.
