This is kind of a sequel because it assumes you know the original Peter Pan story and makes a new story about Peter Pan growing up and forgetting about Neverland. This is a stand alone movie but there are plenty of movies telling the original Peter Pan story. The one that I always think about is the animated Peter Pan (1953) story by Disney.
