Yorushika album update #1

Here's the final setlist + extra notes for the Yorushika album! Speaking of which, I've decided on the name: Summer Blooms Without You.

The first song, rain with cappuccino, will be out this friday at 12am est! It will be a premiere because of the way i mapped out the releases but rest assured you guys will be getting your usual perks!

ABOUT THE TITLE

The title is a little bit personal - well the whole yorushika album is pretty personal to me, seeing how much of my memories and feelings I put in. But tl;dr the main premise of the title is wanting to convey a feeling of loss and of yearning, while keeping in line with the summer theme and paying tribute to Yorushika's original album themes.

The long version is that I've dated my boyfriend for 3 years, only really spent one summer with him, and even so we still lived in different cities at that time (we've been long distance since the start). Every summer since 2019, it just feels really sad to me because I could be spending it with him, but the coronavirus says otherwise LOL. Even though he's still alive and we still talk, it still feels like I lost something, a part of my youth and a part of me -- being 12 hours apart and not having your schedules line up is a pain, and vibing out in call for less than an hour a day just isn't the same as being in person and vibing out. And another summer is upon us now...

ABOUT THE IMAGE

Album sequencing is a harder art than I thought it would be!! It took me and Swiss (and Frog at the end) a little bit over half an hour or something to get the sequence of songs right. I wanted to prioritise narrative while also keeping song transitions in mind. Making a playlist is easy since you can just switch out songs that aren't there, but when you have to make a playlist of songs from a fixed set of songs that don't really flow into each other, it becomes a pain in the butt HAHA. Many thanks to frog and swiss again. Hope you guys enjoy the one liners of the story I put in the right-most column.
