The manga is way better. The anime adaptation is pretty bad, comparatively.

2019-08-04 00:24:03 +0000 UTCI've watched the entire season, and I personally found it to be extremely boring (would have dropped it near the start if I wasn't watching with friends). The storyline was not interesting at all. This episode got everyone all hyped up for the show, due to the sheer shock value of how graphic it was. I enjoyed seeing your reaction to this episode (although rewatching the rape scene was just as uncomfortable as the first time), but I wouldn't watch your reaction to the rest of the show.

The shock value of the first episode made some people hype but after reading Berserk I was kinda numb to that like Imon said. There was nothing else interesting about it imo so I'm definitely on board if it gets dropped for something more entertaining like Jojo's

I had fun watching ya'lls reaction to this, I LOVE that you're taking flyers on shows like this to see if you like the flavor, but I watched about 4-5 episodes of this when it was live and I dropped the show out of boredom. It's not the shock value of the first episode that led me to this conclusion. I shook that off and decided to give the show a fairer shake, and I was left really bored. There's not much material to mine for reactions either.

The threat of it is often there and it is used as a threat to female characters in the show and there are other survivors of goblin attacks that are featured in future episodes. I hope I'm not misremembering, I'm certainly not trying to sugar coat it, there is definitely some egregious violence against women in this series.
