2025-07-18 15:54:00 +0000 UTCCongrats you guys. Hopefully the prop damage won’t cause a balance issue. I’m on my return leg home now on the ICW and currently anchored near Oriental. If you stay inside on the way here, I found the Bob track very helpful but not perfectly accurate. Try to time the inlets with a high tide if possible. It gets pretty skinny on some of them. That’s from Savannah heading to Oriental. Have fun. Be safe.

2025-07-14 01:07:20 +0000 UTCI wasn't sure about your explanation of the incident but did you wait until the slings had been removed from under the boat before starting the engine? Or at least putting it in gear? Did you look at the straps to see if they had any damage to them? Normally, the primary check on launch is just to see if the boat is leaking anywhere. Engine starting problems are unrelated to the launch of the boat and can be handled after the boat is free of the travel lift straps, or in this case the crane lift straps. It looks like the straps were passed under the hull and over the shafts. Were the noises you heard the sounds of the disconnected strap being pulled through that gap across both shafts? Perhaps the big shackle flung around and contacted the props as it passed through? You will need to plan for how to lift this boat with a travel lift without having to go into the water with a snorkle and mask to route those sling straps through manually. When fixing up your boat in NC, I would make a "To Do" Post-It for marking the lift strap positions on the rub rail for future use. Hope those strap buckles didn't mar that finish on your hull! ;) If you have some ratchet straps to throw over the canopy in two directions, it could add to your peace of mind, or just remove the canopy when high winds are expected at night.

Is it possible the "professionals" did this leaving something behind / still attached? Weird that it would be BOTH engines. Sounds like a line across the hulls, just saying.
