So Much F******g Fun - Nix and Theo Sketchpage
Added 2022-01-07 10:27:59 +0000 UTCExperimenting with poses, arranging with intuition, and just getting plain ol howny. That is what drove the first stage of this massive page of drawings. I often talk about speed and efficiency - not because I don't enjoy the process, but because I need to be fast to be a freelancer. And in some cases, in some ways, this page was very fast. I absolutely blazed through some of the sketching. Fun, requiring little little correction, feeling three-dimensional and anatomical without having an atlas of references to my side.
In others it wasn't. I had to come to Nix for a bit and confess I didn't feel very happy with it. What had seemed awesome before colouring had become a clean-up job, and by the end, some of the things still don't 100% satisfy my inner perfectionist. Do not fret, Such is the nature of the work. In the end, this has been valuable, and I am glad for the experience Nix gave me. It's shown me a certain way I cannot do things, helped me figure out colouring more quickly, and given me some perspective on what level of detail is "enough" when you have so much stuff to work on, and so many ways to sort of lose yourself in the work. (I definitely wouldn't have been able to do it this quickly half a year ago. Here's to progress! Haha)
