Eurofurence 27: Dealings

Pictures included beyond the first are not necessarily in order.

1.)

All content showing nudity (one painting and two photos with my prints in them) has been removed due to Patreon's (idiotic) updates regarding non-human genitalia. It was artistic nudity only, but I want to be safe. Go to my SubscribeStar if you want to see everything that I do early!

Preparing for EF wasn‘t easy. It meant turning attention to marketing, stopping almost all creative work that usually keeps me going. A drawn-out infection had me coughing, unable to sleep as anxiety ramped up. Planning my table and ordering supplies for it overlapped with the creation of promotional materials and completely redoing my website. One thing looped around the other without any progressing too well. There were hundreds of Cellophane bags that were too large and needed to be folded and taped, a several-day hunt for the right cardboard backing, bike tours to the overpriced print shop, sticker obsessions, tablecloth debates, wire cube breakdowns, Sumup delivery rage and so many more fun things - while also preparing a presentation from a book that I needed to read twice, and will probably have to read twice more before I begin to understand the gist of it. This book would be ‚Qabalistic Tarot‘ by Robert Wang.

After losing my prints on day two of dealing, I knew I was not going to do well on that panel. The whole day, I'd been sitting at my table working on those CMYKomms (using cyan, magenta and yellow with black marker). Art was the only thing that could keep me off the impending doom xD Security did end up finding my wares, and that was awesome. People were supportive, and I sat down in the park to rehearse until dark, alone. The panel itself was very tough, but people praised me afterwards. Helpful feedback was received with gratitude. There's an Oh moment. I was rarely ever so *fucking* kaputt, and the hands of friends had never seemed so big.

I got the break I earned! Came home with the Rona on a fever and lost most of September to fatigue. With the finale of tax season prompting a bunch of last minute research, I slid right into my birthday on the third. Feeling pretty decent now - and very ready to keep building, rooting, pulling the plough.

This post has been edited and made public in November 2023. My thanks goes to my patrons, whose support allows me to dedicate time to writing and research. They  help improve the personal and empathetic commission work I love the most.

Wishing all a lovely start into December,
Theo
