96 Hours

I'd love to tell you about the intricacies of book publishing, but that will have to wait for another day. For now, just know that I will be busy as shit for the next 96 hours; on Sunday 12th, the final manuscript - AKA The Book - must be uploaded to my Amazon account in order to meet the August 16th release date.

You're probably wondering what the big deal is because isn't The Book already done and ready to go? No, it's not - not after reviewing the .mobi-file (1) and finding several errors related to formatting. None of them my fault. (See today's Lens...)

Suffice to say, I will be occupied with the thankless task of making sure people do their job, so that I can have a nice and clean copy ready on time. If I'm holding the whip, rest assured it will be done.  When I'm not doing that, I will be busy with the Patreon-exclusive I'm planning for release day - and a whole bunch of other shit that needs to be ready for the 16th. 

So please consider this my excuse for not being present here 'till the file is done on Sunday. Frankly, it's the best excuse I've ever made in my entire life. I'm simply too drained to deal with stuff - and fear that I might kill somebody if pressed further. 

Wish I could better describe the frustrations and issues I've been dealing with in the last year or so of writing on this book. But that's the thing; the publishing world is like a world of its own. An echo-system with its own laws, rules and regulations that make little to no sense to outsiders - a category that included me up until recently. 

Add to the above the fact that writing in itself is a very lonesome and isolating experience, where one's troubles and issues aren't easily shared or related to by others, and you might get a sense of this shit-show. 

Alright, rant's over. Again, my apologies for not fulfilling my responsibilities here. Just know that I'm not twiddling my thumbs and that this soon will be over. 

(1) .mobi is the file extension for Kindle and e-readers. And since we're on the topic, yes, you will be able to read my book on your iPhone, iPad and computer via the Kindle app. On the 31st, you'll be able to read it in print. And that's yet another thing I'm rushing to get done on time.
