My parents passed down this idea to me, and that was enough reason for all the things happened in my life. I saw no harm; I was only told it is easier to live and accept your life as it is. But as I got older, bound to my “destiny”, I started to pity myself. It must have been a combination of fatalism and perfectionism, but I was miserable, feeling powerless, and feeling inferior to others. It’s not the matter of having regrets or not, but an attitude of unwillingness.. because why should I try? If it is meant to be, it will come to me without such great efforts. Well, I think it’s a big mistake to think “believing in destiny” cancels out any regrets… In reality, it only helps to AVOID facing your regrets, your choices, and your power. Most importantly, I think the song No.2 or RM himself is actually talking about the opposite. No need to look back because you loved yourself yesterday and love yourself today, you would not have made a choice that could harm yourself or regress yourself, NOT because of “your set and scheduled course of life” already given to you by whatever omnipotent you believe in…
