2023-06-16 23:45:24 +0000 UTCDragon glass is obsidian. It is made from volcanic activity, not dragon's fire. Valyrian steel is made from dragon's fire for it's magic, but can be made without. Joffrey and Jamie both had Valyrian steel swords made from Ned's sword, it wasn't forged from dragon's fire.

2022-12-01 17:42:29 +0000 UTCNah, Wun Wun, the giant, he doesn't need to swim. They are on the coast. He just walks in the shallow part, until the boats pull back into Eastwatch by the see. Or they walk to a spot free of the Nights King and his White Walkers. Then they can just put him in the ships instead of the dingy boats. He's not too big on a ship. He isn't so big he can't boats a ship. Hardhome and Eastwatch are on the same coast. Plus, he knows they are headed to Castle Black, he can just catch up to them if he gets split. Which he doesn't, so I'm not sure why I felt the need to harp on that point. But there it is, in any case.

2022-11-25 03:10:09 +0000 UTCremember that Jon's Sword, Long Claw, is made of Valyrian steel. this is where we find out that Valyrian steel can also kill White Walkers. it has something to do with dragon magic, people think. because dragon glass and Valyrian steel both need a dragon's fire breath to be made.

The blue dude with thorns on his head/no hair, that resurrected all of the dead (turning them into Wights), is referred to as the "Night King".

Everyone thought he was going down to and yeah im glad you enjoyed that moment so much! I can't be sure, but I don't believe that the White Walkers had ever seen Valyrian steel before, because it was crafted in the Valyrian Freehold (where the stone men are at now, so in a whole different continent to Westeros) and I think it was crafted with the aid of dragons flame/fire or magic in some way, and I don't think dragons were ever in Westeros up until the Targaryen's Conquest, and the White Walkers had never mounted an attack like this on the South in modern knowledge, so no one would ever have fought them with Valyrian steel. So that's probably why old buddy was like "WTF how did you block my shit?!" because only Dragonglass was available in Westeros to destroy them, it's kind of like an ore that runs through the foundations of Dragonstone (the castle where Stannis was at).

2022-11-19 06:49:24 +0000 UTCRE: Army of the Dead & White Walkers. The White Walkers are those main dudes on horses, with armor, they look like straight-up icicle warrior warlocks essentially. Sam killed one with the Dragonglass to save Gilly, and we saw one take Craster's son prior to that, then touch its head and turn the baby. There were a few White Walkers around at this time, all under The Night King who is the first and master of the race. The White Walkers are actually a race of the world, they're thousands and thousands of years old and I think they were originally under the control of The Children of The Forest and/or The Three-Eyed Raven. The hundreds and thousands of less powerful feral "icy-zombies" are called "wights", which are the reanimated dead of the victims of the White Walkers, and they are also as a group called "The Army of the Dead". The wights are much less powerful, and can also be animals or any other living thing that is sentient and dies, but they are mindless zombies that just obey the White Walkers: they have no magic of their own, but they have to be taken down by fire, probably dismemberment because you can't fight without a torso, or to have the White Walkers taken down because they are reanimated by the necromancy of the White Walkers. Whereas the White Walkers themselves have to be destroyed (whole body) with fire, slain with Dragonglass or pure Valyrian steel, that we know of.
