Abandoned Temple (30x45)

This map features an abandoned temple built in the scenic mountains, with a cascading river passing through it. The two great braziers at the entrance have been unlit as some of the stone begins to crumble and the plants grow unchecked with the absence of its inhabitants.
Some ideas for this map:
Here, monks were dedicated to their studies and relationship with nature. Perhaps they used to worship a fantastical beast that once guarded the forest, but it has since become corrupted and the monks have not returned since.
- carnivorous plants lurk in the courtyard with the large floor mosaic
- animated statues that will protect the temple against intruders
- a thick, perhaps magical, mist is produced by the waterfalls that obscures vision
- both traps and treasures within the maze
