A lone cabin stands deep in the heart of the wilderness, its chimney puffing thin plumes of smoke into the crisp forest air. The scent of home-cooked stew lingers on the wind, and the warm glow of lanterns spills through the windows, a beacon of quiet, simple living.
Ancient Curse – The family has been afflicted with a terrible curse, one that forces them to remain hidden from the world. Perhaps they are lycanthropes who chain themselves up each full moon or vampires who prey upon unsuspecting travelers. Villagers whisper of figures seen wandering the woods at night, their glowing eyes watching from the darkness.
Up and Vanished – The family is gone, yet the home remains eerily untouched. A fire still crackles in the hearth and a steaming meal sits waiting on the table. The silence is unnatural, the air charged with something unseen. Were they taken? Did they flee? Or were they erased by something far worse?

There is also a "broken" version for higher tiers (I meant to call it "destroyed" but totally blanked on the word ). In this version, the cabin may be found in a ruined state, the remains of a horrific event now frozen in time.
Raided & Ruined – Bandits or marauders have looted the cabin, leaving shattered furniture, ransacked chests, and bloodstains trailing into the woods. Tracks in the dirt suggest some of the family might have been taken… or fled into the night.
Feral Monster Attack – The structure is scarred with deep claw marks, and the scent of decay hangs heavy in the air. Something enormous and predatory has torn through the home—perhaps a werewolf, an enraged owlbear, or a starving troll. The only remaining clues are tufts of fur, gouged wooden beams, and the echo of a bestial growl nearby.
Poltergeist Possession – The walls are scratched with cryptic writing, furniture floats unnervingly in the air, and whispers slither through the silence. The family may have disturbed something ancient—perhaps a vengeful spirit or an artifact with a mind of its own. The cabin is now a deathtrap of shifting shadows, flickering lights, and eerie, unseen forces.
