April Release and Poll

You are welcome to leave comments for ideas. I'm going to combine a couple of the ones I got last month for May. It will help drive people over from our April Kickstarter and keep things growing! March saw our most new Patrons since our launch in November, Welcome to all the new faces and thanks for the support:) In addition to helping me you are also helping to fund our pledge to produce around 1000 face shield visors a month that are sent forward to help all types of organizations in our little corner of the country.  Hopefully we can all get back to life soon.

The poll below here is to help give me some direction to move in after May. I'll continue to grow the options and poll every couple of months to see what way the winds are blowing so I can introduce some fresh content that people are into.

Thanks Mike, I'll have that on the poll for sure!

Just thinking "out loud" , but I've never seen a tennement block in this context. You could make it modular for a huge number of variations as regards length and height.

The usual ones are a good start: adventurer gear, food store, a potion/magic vendor, and a "generic" one ready for customization. Maybe one of these per month for the next four month ? Can always be expanded later with more specific stores fitting with some themes.

Eric Matecki

I'll get this into the next poll. You looking for a specific store or just the usual adventurer outfitters?

I'd like a few first stories with store fronts.

Eric Matecki

Like shack instead of A15 😃 just describing what they are, no „Codes“.

Mario da Silva

I second that :) Hummm, patreon messed my post all up... I'll repost on discord...

Eric Matecki

There will be some walls next month. There's a lot of brick roads out there, but I have one added in the stretchgoals of this months kickstarter if it gets far enough.

it would be good walls and pavement

I love the style you're putting out but it would be nice to have different roof tops. Like tile, flat tops, oriental, ottoman, elven, maybe a Victorian and I like the character you add to the homes with the missing shingle and odd board but a new well maintained roof would be cool to.

SirDrakey

Ah. Thanks Brent. That I can do now, and it would add some of that flair without starting over from the ground up.

I'm sure it's challenging and there's no question you win out on value for sure. Some ideas might be alternate style roofs, doors, and/or windows that still fit the modular specs.

Brent Winters

Hey Brent thanks for the comment. I have thought about sprucing the shack thing up a bit. I'll add it to the list. Modular concepts and details are unfortunately very inversely proportional. to be blunt, I can't put out 3 buildings a month at this price point without modularity. I'll certainly make it a priority to revisit this as support grows.:)

I love the modular concept, but I'm a bit underwhelmed by the general style compared to printablescenery (though their stuff is very pricey). These designs could use more fantasy flair and less old west fort look in my opinion. So elf and dwarf designs would be my strong vote! And maybe some attachments that had skulls or whatever.

Brent Winters

Thanks Robert, Everybody has to do what they can, but only IF they can. I'm hoping we can make short work of it and I never see part 2000.

Hi Mario, can you give me an example? Thanks:) I can think of a lot of ways to name them and they will all make sense to me but not others.

I really like this idea. I see a lot of scenery companies put out different town settings that look good, but I think that your twists would make them that much better. Rowhouses, coastal houses, forges, shops, market stalls, all of that good stuff would be a great way to change it up from time to time.

Just taking a minute to acknowledge the face shields. That is, in my opinion, the best idea thus far! Keep doing great things like that!

another little and easy suggestion is to name the files with proper names that makes it a lot easier imo

Mario da Silva

AH, so small buildings using a city block side-by-side concept. Yeah that is not something I have seen done. Thanks for the insight:)

Just another thought—perhaps keep things small but design them for cramped medieval town buildings (flat sided) so we can create our own combinations of buildings

Robb

I think burrow-style buildings (goblinoid or hobbit) would be a great option. You could literally model the surface “mound” and have lift off “roofs” to get to the insides. Costal buildings (on stilts to avoid high tide) or inland lake buildings (to avoid flooding) might be a possibility too.

Robb

I mean putting it on shuffle sounds interesting. Second vote would be a large item occasionally to mix it up.
